This blog encompasses all:  "and the Greatest of These is Love."     So true, my brother, so true.   Great insight here and I am so glad you are sharing the Truth of His Word with others.   Words... the world was created with words.   Words are powerful... we have NO IDEA how powerful they are.   You are right on... Michael... and we need to watch our words, they can create life or death without even knowing it.

BIG STAR... and blessings to YOU.    Minister Melanie

This is a nice blog. This was the message i brought last month at our Bible study at the jail. It is so important to be slow to speak lest we speak words of death.

Absolutely, AMEN!  God kept giving me this verse (I think so it would register He was trying to tell me something, I reckon-lol) about letting my words minister grace to the hearers.  I tend to be very blunt and oft times, come off insensitive or even rude.  The Lord was reminding me of my weakness, but that He can help me be more attentive to my words.  Do they always minister grace to the hearers? heck, no.  One need only look at some of my comments. I try to be careful, but I still have lots of flesh that isn't dead yet.  Thanks for a great word for EVERYBODY!

Yes, what you said is true.  Life and death are in the power of the tongue.  As Christians we should always speak the truth in love.  (1Co 13:1-3) "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing."  There is a "Gift of Tongues" not mentioned and it is a Gift of the Holy Spirit.

I know that I have gotten in trouble at work for what I have said.  I just calling it joking but some times people are offended and they should be.  This is some thing that I have trouble with.  I know that others at work would not even know I was a Chrisitian because of my tongue.

I know it could hurt like a flaming sword in my heart so I can only pray and watch for what comes out of my mouth... "May the words of our mouth, the meditations of our hearts, and the offering of our hands be acceptable in His sight."

We must make the most of every opportunity. Great reminder.
