As a youngster my siblings couldn't say Cheryl so I was "Herl" In Jr. HIgh and High School I was called "Cool Hand" (remember the movie?) In my twenty's is was "Peanut".... that was in the cb days. Skipping to 9yrs ago...... It is now "Big Mama" (I requested this one from my grand-children in memory of my "BigMama") |

| Well, I'm only 4'7...so Shorty is one nickname used by countless people. My two favs: Roo(Kanga's son from Winnie the Pooh) and Squatty Body. Of course, like most Melissa's, I get called Missy and that is on my license plate. |
my fav nickname is "Daddy"

(I'm having trouble getting over moofy moofer! lol) |
My youngest brother couldn't say Cheryl either...I was "Shell".
Boys in high school used to call me "Cricket" because I could always be found in a corner of a room & usually singing something ..at least under my breath.
My first boyfriend called me "koo-u layh"/ Hawaiian for sweetheart.
Out of college, A lot of people called me "Charlie", because of the perfume I wore and the response I gave as a substitute for a no...remember chicken of the sea? Sorry Charlie!
Now i'm either "Red" or the "Red-Headed Government Lady"..it's how I send my letters and text messages. |

| In high school, "Ding" (my last name used to be Dinger)...my husband has had several for me, "Red", "Blondie" ( have strawberry blonde hair), and Babe...oh yes, and Shorty. :) |
My nickname/callsign from my first year serving in my beloved US Marine Corps thru the present is "Big Country"... with my strong Southern accent, Southern gentlemen etiquette, size & shape (I'm 6'4 & and weigh well over 300 lbs now, with most of it being hard-earned muscle from 20 years of serious weight training), and naturally "good looks", this name has followed me for nearly 23 years. On MyChurch, I go by "The Wyatt" due to my similarities in my demeanor/personality to Wyatt Earp from the movie "Tombstone"... my wife goes by the name of "Doc" as she closely mimmicks "Doc" Holiday from the same...
Semper Fidelis! |

I chose stewpot for Stu. I agree Lara, we let him get away with stuff! Ok Princess: My husband looked at me and said, "Woman, get me a cup of coffee". He had NEVER said before and I was shocked!!! I said, "I am not your Woman, Mister!" Then I got his coffee while I was laughing. I did not bring him up to be this way! He had hangin' around his friends toooooo long. |

My Aunt and Grandmother called me Nell. It's the only nickname I ever liked (except for Mom and Meme by my kids and their kids). My real name is Janell and I've always loved it 'cause it is a combination of my mom's name and my Dad's. So it is special and I like to be called that. Other nicknames carry negative baggage: In my teen years guys sometimes called me Red but it was usually accompanied by negative speculation about a bad temper they suspected must go along with my red hair. An uncle called me Piglet because of my last name (don't ask! & don't call me Piglet! I will not answer!) My husband's mother called me "that girl" at first but she later apologized and dropped it. Thank God! |

| I can't believe she would you "that girl" !!!! My word! You're the sweetest thing! |
Now, Joey! I did say she apologized. She didn't know me and she was afraid her son would marry me instead of going off to college. It was just a fear of hers, it had nothing to do with me. I was only 15 and not the marriage-minded hussy she thought me to be. We did marry when I was grown up - at 20 and had a good job, in his last semester at college. She opposed that, too, but it worked out very well. He was able to stay home and study instead of spending time driving a distance to see me! It took her awhile, but God convicted her and she came around. I appreciate your loyalty and kind words and that you didn't call me Piglet! Thanks! |

Well in school, they called me Goober. I wonder why... lol
My dad called me Squash
My hubby, Delbert calls me Rose and sometimes he calls me nothing! I wonder about that too! lol
My 3 Grand kids growing up... couldn't say Gram so they called me Dram..Dam. and Bam! |
Sunshine, by my parents and NOT because I was a sunny child --I found out later! LOL "Hi Water" in Youth For Christ (high school) --a cute little redhead started that one, so I didn't mind much. {grin} Monk in college. Buckethead ... to my children... don't ask.... Sammy to my clown friends. "Neow!" (Food!) to my cats. Colt (1911AI) to my Halo playing nephews and church teens at LAN parties, and "Elder Colt" is my Single Action Shooting Society handle. Halbert to my longtime friends! I wanna be G-Paw when I acheive grand status --hopefully awhile off! But, my kids tease me and say they want it to be PeePaw. Yech! (shudder) Noooooooooooooooooo! |
LOL... yeah, we are all "babe" to Stewpot- hehe Love it though!!! I think I like Monk for Hal!!!! (I love the show) |
Hal...Buckethead?
I'm not too sure about SugarBooger...I'd just call her J.
Noe for the other SugarBoogar on here...tennis ball head? The visual that goes with that name is quite silly!!
Joey, I tried the "Woman" thing a few times, too. Must be a guy thing. It didn't work for me either. I call her Babe most of the time now.
One name I forgot...when I was in the military some called me "Crit" - mostly behind my back because I was an officer. They thought I could sneak up on just about anything like a "critter" in the woods. I had the world's best NCO and he was the one that told me about it. |
My dad used to call me bugsbunny for my over bite and still does. My mom calls me margalet. |

Ok now!! My Daddy was a Peepaw. My little just walked up and pointed at him and called him that. He just grinned his toothless grin. It remained with him until he died. He was proud of his nickname.
