"A silent tsunami which knows no borders sweeping the world".
That is how the head of the UN World Food Programme (WFP) summed up the global food shortages…It is certainly a storm that has hit with little warning and has plunged an extra 100 million people into poverty.
The crisis has triggered riots in Haiti, Cameroon, Indonesia and Egypt and is deemed a dangerous threat to stability.
The WFP’s biggest concern is for the people living on 50 cents a day who have nothing to fall back on.
We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father… 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3These Things…These things; this storm, should not concern us—God is bigger than any tsunami. What should concern us is if the church; the Body of Christ is going to be obedient to the will of the Father. Rescue will come when those who consider themselves to be blessed by God will desire to become a blessing to others in desperate need.
