My little Siberian husky, Misty, has been in the hospital a couple of days. Very scary thing for me.. At first it looked like her liver and kidneys were shutting down just out of the blue. Yesterday the vet called me and said that she'd had an irregular heart beat and they'd run several EKG's on her. Now this morning I am starting to get some good news. Liver/kidney values aren't back to normal but are improving. Heart isn't quite right but stable enough that they might let me take her home for the rest of the weekend to medicate her at home and try to tempt her to eat. Then Monday she'll have to go back in for an ultra sound to see if we can find the reason for all this.

Maybe some of you aren't dog people and think I'm silly to spend time thinking about this or to even want prayer for my dog. But I don't have kids of my own and she has been my furry four-legged child for almost 10 1/2 years. That may sound old, but she has the heart of a perpetual puppy. Well, lets me honest, the dog is a spaz but I love her. And look at that face (she's the picture I use since she is so much cuter than me).. How could you not love that face?

During the last few days I keep thinking of the verse, I think its in Matthew, where Jesus talks about that not even a sparrow can fall without our Father knowing it. If he cares about those little birds, I know God has to love puppy dogs.

Update on 5-19.  I got to take my puppy home!!!!!!!!!!   The ultra sound was clean today.  No major masses or tumors which was the biggest risk.  At this point we don't know the cause of the arrhythmia so we have her on heart medication and a couple of antibiotics.  She's acting much more like herself and even jumped up on people tonight.  The vet warned me she could have a fatal heart attack at any time but I was much too selfish to let go of her now so I'm glad I get more time with her.  I just have to restrict her activity for awhile and get another EKG in a few days.
