The question you need to ask yourself is, are you right and they're wrong, or are they right and you're wrong?  Why, when you make any comment either here or on another site - are people whistling the same tune? I ain't judging you either way.  But its something you need to ask yourself.

Good point there Steve, but it does hurt when people judge me based on a few things. :-(

James 1:23-24 [NIV].  Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in the mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.  But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgettting what he has heard, but doing it - he will be blessed in what he does.

Eitherway I'm not judging you, but the answer is in the mirror.  Are they wrong and you're right, or are you right and they're wrong?  Tough decision when you think about it isn't it.  I repeat.  Why do people seem to be whistling the same tune?  What in the whole grand scale of things do they see that you don't (or vise versa)?

Hard to know for sure there Steve and I am thankful that you don't judge me, plus I didn't know that is what that bible verse meant.

It comes from studying the bible, not just reading it.  The hardest thing people have to face in life is what's staring back at them in the mirror.  And if they don't like what they see - they blame someone else.

That makes sense to me, I am trying to study it, but I get lost in trying to figure that out.

Last comment.  There's a difference between head knowledge and heart knowledge when it comes to studying. The head doesn't understand most of it, but the heart does.  The heart has a deeper understanding, and sometimes people have to switch their head off and go with their heart.  That's also written in the bible. Here endeth my comments on the subject.

Megan, Pray before you read your Bible and then meditate on what you have read, Be still and let the Lord reveal to you the lesson you are to learn.  We are all at different stages in our Spiritual maturity but as you grow God will reveal more to you in His Word.  Praying for you.

Can I offer a few tips on how to not get hurt on message boards?

1.)  Seek to bless and not to be blessed. (I have probably used this phrase 100 times on here :)
2.)  If you do notice a personality clash with someone, you may want to keep your distance.  I have found that when there is a personality clash, things only get worse when you try to make things better.
3.)  (This is the most difficult one for me)  Listen to others instead of trying to be heard.  (Still working on this one :)  But I am sure it'll work!
4.)  Try not to be easily offended.  A lot gets lost in the translation of written blogs, comments, etc.  Try not to always think that everything is a personal attack against you.  It's not!  People may be only trying to help.

Hope this is received in the spirit that was intended.  God bless you Megan!

You know I think the best thing you could do for yourself is to withdraw for a while. When  you have so many voices telling you this and that it lends to confusion.  Take some time for Megan and relax.

I love you Megan! Pray and seek God's Face. He will show you the way! Be blessed!

118:8 [It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

I think Sue's comments are wise words, but I still stick by what I wrote. Instead of looking for external answers "out there" to make you happy, look for the internal ones.  Its another way of saying the answer is in the mirror.  Whether it be me, you or anyone else for that matter, only "we" know the answer to that one.
