62:2 62:1To the choirmaster: according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.
“He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”
When you are facing the fire, stand tall, rely on God. Put your trust In Him and He will deliver you to solid ground. The ground beneath our feet will be shaky at times. We are going to face troubles and trials. We are going to get knocked down, but with God as our hope and with the rest that he provides our soul, we can weather the storms, we can hang in there and we will come away stronger than when we first began. There are days where it seems no matter what we do, trouble finds us. Sometimes I like to blame it on “the full moon.” But in reality, things simply happen. Our world is not going to be free from issues. But one thing is for certain, God’s love and care for us never diminishes in the storm. He is always there. When gray clouds surround us, we sometimes loose our self confidence and sometimes our frustration level is higher. But if we will focus on something around us that is good or positive, somehow the hurt doesn’t seem so bad. It is still there, but like I always say, “out of sight, out of mind.”
Psalm 62 is all about putting our trust and hope in God. It is about reaffirming that he is our rock and salvation. With Him in our life, we can withstand what life throws our way. “ He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. . . . he is my mighty rock, my refuge.” (Psalm 62:6-7)
Start your day by reading Psalm 62. Then whatever is on your mind, or what ever the struggle that you are facing today, give it 100% to God. Trust in Him through all things, at all times, as He has a plan and He will be there for you and with you.
Prayer: Father God, you are my refuge, my strength, my hope and my Father. Walk with me today. Help me to stand on solid ground. Help me to bounce back from the trials that I am going through today. Even when things seem to go haywire, I know that I can find peace within your presence. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
