| What a great day! |

Well, today was just an absolute blast!
Everybody here at the corps had been working so hard (thanks, guys, I appreciate you all) that Dave and I decided we all needed an Employee Appreciation Outing. So we got wonderful Mary Hart to volunteer to man the office while we all went out to play.
Connie and Pat planned the day for all of us. We went up to Altoona, PA, to Horseshoe Curve National Historic Site for some fresh air and some eduation. Trains are so much fun. Bill beat Jeff up the stairs to the park. The rest of us took the little funicular. It was beautiful. Melody took pictures of all. Then, after driving around the parking lot in circles to make Miss Pat crazy, we went to the Pretzel Outlet and, well . . . you can guess what we did there. Even when we're not working, though, we can't stop thinking about work. Melody and Connie shopped for programs in addition to their own purchases.
After that we went to Olive Garden for lunch! Susanne had been thoughtful enough to purchase post cards for family members so she wrote those out and went on a mailbox hunt. We didn't get dessert because Kitty had made brownies to bring with us. Yum!
All that to say that a simple day in the company of a great team is one of the most enjoyable things in life! |
