John 14:16, "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you."

A few weeks ago Andrew and I built our first model car together. I was really impressed with him because he lasted at least a full 20 minutes before I was left on my own for the next 40 minutes trying to fit all the tiny little pieces together. And when
I was done, Andrew just couldn't wait to wake mommy up and say
"LOOK WHAT I DID!!" Jesus did not leave us alone to complete the work of the ministry. What Jesus sent us was His Holy Spirit. As Jesus rules from heavens throne, the Holy Spirit is with us convicting and convincing us of Jesus Christ, and when we believe and receive Him, the Holy Spirit comes to live inside of us. (Side note: here is why I do not believe a Christian can be demon possessed, because the bible says
"John 4:4 because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." ...it doesn't say "greater is he who is in you than he who is in you". The Holy Spirit's role is one of comforter and helper. Life has too many intricate details that we humans cannot and will not ever on this side of heaven be able to handle on our own. How awesome it is to know that although at times the world has abandoned us, Jesus' Holy Spirit is continually with us, comforting us in and through every situation. And yet the Holy Spirit has an additional role, not only is the Holy Spirit with us before we become a believer, and in us when we become a believer, the Holy Spirit will come upon us empowering us for the work of the ministry. The church was never meant to operate on its own strength. Jesus said in
Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to me." The word, "Power" comes from the Greek word "Dunamis", we get our English word Dynamic and Dynamite from it. In essence, Jesus was saying that we would receive a new dynamic or dynamite gift empowering us for the work of the ministry.
The Holy Spirit, the comforter or helper is with you before you become a believer, in you when you become a Christian, and will come
upon you for the work of the ministry, and will never leave you nor forsake you. This is why I have no problem giving God the glory for finishing the work in my life. Let not any of us get up to heaven and make a presentation to the throne of "Look what I did" (the reality is, it would be a presentation of a messed life and not a blessed life), if any of us have
anything to present to the throne of God let us bow down and say "Thank you, Jesus for sending the comforter to complete the work in my life"
