I held my first Senior's meeting today and feel it went over really well. There were about 7 of us and we had a great time fellowshipping and remembering times past. We started our meeting with a devotional, after which we had a picture to color so we could take it home and be reminded that God takes care of us! I did a program on automobiles, complete with trivia and a word search. prizes were given to the two who found the most autos in their word search. We closed with lunch and laughter. Am now working on ideas for future programs so it can not only remain fun, but be varied. We will be doing crafts, learning about nutrition and cooking on the George Foreman grill, and of, course have bingo sometime. Also want to plan some field trips, a weiner roast at the park, have chair exercises, okay, you get the idea, I'm excited about the program and my ladies today were quite enthusiastic! Pray that this program will provide a valuable outlet for our seniors.
Shirley, that sounds like so much fun, I can't wait till I'm old enough to join! (well, geography might actually be a bigger obstacle than my age) Congrats on a successful meeting!
