| MY sin, MY Savior |
|
| |
Sin is all around, everybody is doing it. Sin is going on in my house, at my work, and even in my church. It’s going on in my neighborhood, my city, across my nation, and throughout the world. Where there is humanity, there are sins being committed.
My eyes are often drawn to them too, the sins of others. It's so easy to recognize, focus on, and even dwell upon, the sins of others. And yet my sins, and mine alone, are enough to require the death of the Son of God in order to secure salvation for me.
49:8 the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough—
When I stop to really consider my sins, and mine alone, the result is……resignation and gratitude, a very deep, inexpressible gratitude...all that comes out is praise. Yes, I believe Jesus would have given his life for me alone. This is the wonder and greatness of MY Savior. Only when I stop to recognize my personal sin do I realize that my Savior too is personal, deeply personal. Moment by moment personal.

| What is man that God is mindful of us? Amazing love! How can it be? That thou my God wouldst die for me. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those that fear Him. As far as the east is from the west so far has He removed our transgressions from us. I concur Mike! What else can I do but praise Him? Hallelujah what a Savior! |

| One thing the Lord has been doing in my life is encouraging me to be thankful. This week, as part of my devotional time, I have been spending extended time in thanksgiving which has created in me a more thankful heart. One area of focus has been what Jesus has done on the cross. He has saved us and delivered us from the power of sin. Though I still struggle with sin like everyone else, by focuisng on the fact that he has delieverd me has helped me to be victorious. |

Amen David... oops I meant Mike and Laura. Great Blog
51:4 \51:2\Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin! 51:5 \51:3\For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. 51:6 \51:4\ Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in thy sight, so that thou art justified in thy sentence and blameless in thy judgment. 51:7 \51:5\Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. 51:8 \51:6\ Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward being; therefore teach me wisdom in my secret heart. I love this verse.
Thanks I needed it tonight |

| Amen, Pastor Tim. He did soooooooo much on that Cross. When I really stop to ponder what I wrote about above...it all becomes so.....personal. No other god, man. No other god!! |
|

| Becky, God bless you sister...great scripture, thanks for posting that. It goes to the heart of what I wrote. |
|
|
Yeah I love it too. Especially how we were conceived in sin because of the blood we were born in... immaculate conception
Bless you! I am back and holding on to every thread...but working |
|
|
| OOOPS I meant immaculate conception is the only way we could have been concieved without sin. You knew what I meant. |

It is truly a blessing that He gave His life for me and you! I just can't thank Him enough for saving me from myself! and giving me the gift of His Holy Spirit to carry me through every trial and tribulation. Thank you for this. God Bless You! Ev. Cookie |

Amen Mike It seems that most of the blogs written lately bring to mind hymns. This one is no exception. The first one that just popped in my head after reading this one was the following: Oh, how He loves you and me, Oh, how He loves you and me. He gave His life, what more could He give; Oh, how He loves you, Oh, how He loves me, Oh, how He loves you and me.
That is pretty personal. To me. Thanks for a great post to bed down to. Blessings |

2:1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
My Sin Alone
The light of GOD enlightened me To others who were not what they should be
Ungrateful, unthankful they do not respect They live christianity with their intellect
In the seat of the scornful they recline At the table of intolerance they dine
Others trample grace under their feet For a season the taste of sin is sweet
They live their lives to fulfill lust In their own selves they put their trust
The pain of others they do not feel Self-absorbed they never heal
I lowered my shield of faith for a moment And saw fully for who the light was intent
Not for the brethren or those in sin But for the darkness that lingered within
Tears filled my eyes as I realized For my sin alone Jesus had died
.....peace..... |

"I know that you don't understand the fullness of My love How I died upon the cross for your sins And I know that you don't realize how much that I gave you But I promise, I would do it all again. Just to be with you, I've done everything There's no price I did not pay Just to be with you, I gave everything Yes, I gave my life away."
This song moves me to tears everytime I hear it. It's the first song you'll hear on my page. Mike, when I started reading this post, this song came immediately to my mind......Thank you and I'm so thankful that He loves an unloveable me :) |

|
| Thank you Cindy (aka Princess)....er, you're welcome! Your comment (and the others for that matter) echos the very essence of what it means to become a Christian...the personal sacrifice for our personal sins makes us right with God, forever. Amen |

| Mike you have nailed this to the fullest! when we look at ourselves we can see that we need him more than ever. Thanks brother. |
|

MIKE IT ALWAYS AMAZES ME THAT HE WOULD HAVE DONE IT JUST FOR ME! WE CAN NEVER EVEN START TO REPAY OUR KING FOR HIS LOVE! STU. |

I was sinking deep in sin, Far from the peaceful shore, Very deeply stained within, Sinking to rise no more; But the Master of the sea Heard my despairing cry, From the waters lifted me, Now safe am I.
Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lifted me. Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, Love lifted me.
All my heart to Him I give, Ever to Him I'll cling, In His blessed presence live, Ever His praises sing. Love so mighty and so true, Merits my soul's best songs; Faithful, loving service, too, To Him belongs.
Souls in danger, look above, Jesus completely saves; He will lift you by His love Out of the angry waves. He's the Master of the sea, Billows His will obey; He your Savior wants to be - - Be saved today. |

Yep Yep...Love it Cella!
But the Master of the sea Heard my despairing cry, From the waters lifted me, Now safe am I. |

HE DIED FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so insignificant and he died for me. It has been so hard for me to wrap this thought around my head for so long and yet he shows me everyday of my life that he loves me, loves ME... He constantly forgives me for my sins that happen everyday, he constantly provides for my needs, he constantly comforts and protects me.
He hung on that CROSS for every sin that I WILL COMMIT in my lifetime and every sin that you will commit in your lifetime. He died for us....
In this very small world we attempt to praise, magnify, adore, love our LORD AND SAVIOR and the efforts (no matter how sincere) are so small in comparision to what he has done, will do and continues to do each and every day of our lives for us.... MAGNIFY HIM with all you have, HONOR AND GLORIFY HIS MAGNIFICENT NAME....
We come together as a group (in church, internet, phone) to lift him, yet our walk with him is very different and personal. How can it not be????????? He loves each and everyone of us for who we are, because he made us. He put all of the differences in us to make us unique and his..... My walk is very personal and I thank him for allowing me to travel this journey, learn of and love him with every fiber of my being....

| I even like to think of songs in the old red back hymnal. You know don't every church have those old hymnals of long ago? One of my favorite songs in those old red back hymnals that we have is "The Love of God". " Could we with ink the ocean fill, And were the skies of parchment made, Were every stalk on earth a quill, And every man a scribe by trade; To write the love of God above Would drain the ocean dry; Nor could the scroll contain the whole, Though stretched from sky to sky.
His love amazes this sinner saved by grace. To think that while He was on the cross, He looked ahead in time, saw me (wretched sinner that I was) loved me and yet died for me. If we wrote of the love of God this task would never be completed for it doesn't stop even throughout eternity. |

Larry, paradoxically yours is a deeply personal experience, and yet a universal experience among the saved. I thank God that I share it! Awesome post, brother!
The personal nature of our Savior inspires so many of us to sing!!!! |

| Excellent blog Mike...Jesus knows us better than we know ourselves, so how can He not be our personal God? He knows all about us, and loves us still. Awesome! |
|
|
| Thank you Mike for yet another wonderful blog. I thank my Father for loving me so that He sent His Son to die for MY SINS! God is Good.. All the Time!! |
|
|
| That was thought provoking. How easily we can recognize sin in others, but fail to see our own. There is none perfect. We must deal with our own hearts and relationship with God. I am so thankful that we have a loving, forgiving Heavenly Father. |
|
|
| Amen. And when we fixate on sin all the time, it just robs us of our joy. I am all about dealing with sin and accountability and all, it's just removing the plank, and also not going out looking for it. That religious and critical spirit. I sin and fall short---all of us do like the Word says; For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God---so I shouldn't go around looking for ppl to throw stones at. The measure I use will be measured back to me....and I want mercy.....Mercy always triumphs over judgment. |

Awesome Post!!!! Were u in church with me sunday and I missed you ??waaaaa *giggles* The Pastor started his talk with " I am a sinner, I AM A SINNER!" There is sin all around me and I am temped. Forgive me Father , for I AM A SINNER." We read out of Proverbs 17 .
I know I too am a sinner, I know Ive been forgiven of my sins and I don't partake in them sins today. BUT, I am always temped to sin again each day, it is all around me. If I stay anchored in Christ, I have a better chance of NOT sinning today.
Happy Birthday Mike, since today is your Birthday and I got a chance to get online. Thanks bro for all you contribute!!! God Bless You HUGS!!!!

Right Donna, chances are better now that we are a new creature in Christ so we don't have to be sinners, but winners. Not infallable, but following His leading and getting better at it.
The Love of Christ is so powerful in so many ways Mike. Amen and amen! And Happy Birthday! |
|
|
Great comment Victorious - winners not sinners - love it! And thanks for the cyberhug, Donna! (and the b-day wishes...I appreciate them soooo much!) |
|
|
Reflecting on others is easy, their sin even can seem obvious... reflecting on our own sin... well that should be even easier for us to see, but most times it is veiled by our own callousness, and lack of acceptance that we are just as sinful as those whose sin we recogonize right away. May we all acknowledge the gift of love from a selfless being, for "us" an underserving selfish people. Grace, Grace, and more Grace. Thank God for His Grace. |
