| In My Weakness |
|
| |
I don't know if I'm ready to fully blog about this past week.. but to say the least it was (and is) quite trying for me. I am actually physically weak today with a fever and some dizziness. I think during this downtime God has and will be showing me that I need to be weak. 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. There are seasons of energy for me (I'm normally an extrovert who actually gets loads of energy by connecting with people - I call it social alertness), and then I have periods of just utter reliance on God.. and I suppose it's this work in progress of learning that everything we do is an exercise of reliance on Him. |

Carebear, When I read this the following scripture came to mind immediately...the key phrase being the one I highlighted... 37:6 And he will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, And thy justice as the noon-day. 37:7 Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him: Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. |

I am praying for you Carol. I started to ask if God were teaching you something... How did I miss that He is showing you to rely on Him? You've communicated that so clearly. God bless you. |

That's a great verse---one of many from 2 Corinthians which has meant a lot to me over the years. God's favor towards us is magnified in our weaknesses, especially when we realize just how dependent upon Him we are. I think that when we are weak, we can be in a better position to hear God's word and accept all of His gifts, including the comfort that he gives through others. We also are able to minister that comfort to others in a gentle way, so that people see Jesus rather than ourselves. (2 Corinthians 1:3-10, 4:7-18) |

| I think voice_in_dc hit the nail on the head (is that the right phrase? sorry.. i'm a little woozy right now :P). Resting and waiting patiently is not something that comes natural to me.. but it does bear such sweet fruit when we abide in this way. Thanks for your prayers Mary Ann. You all are such sweet bro's and sis's.. |

God bless you Carol. Be still and know that He is God. Before Jesus fed the multitudes, He went to a deserted place to REST. Then the multitudes followed Him. So rest.... for the Lord is storing up a miracle within you. |

I Know Who Holds Tomorrow I don’t know about tomorrow, I just live from day to day; I don’t borrow from its sunshine, For its skies may turn to gray. I don’t worry o’er the future, For I know what Jesus said; And today I’ll walk beside Him, For He knows what is ahead. Refrain: Many things about tomorrow I don’t seem to understand; But I know who holds tomorrow, And I know who holds my hand. Every step is getting brighter As the golden stairs I climb; Every burden’s getting lighter, Every cloud is silver-lined. There the sun is always shining, There no tear will dim the eye; At the ending of the rainbow, Where the mountains touch the sky. Refrain I don’t know about tomorrow, It may bring me poverty; But the one who feeds the sparrow, Is the one who stands by me. And the path that is my portion, May be through the flame or flood; But his presence goes before me, And I’m covered with His blood. Refrain |

Wow... words cannot express how uplifted I am by all your encouragement, both spiritually and physically. :) The songs, verses, prayers.. Thank You for reminding me and helping me realize God's strength is real and everywhere. "And today I’ll walk beside Him, For He knows what is ahead. " |

May you rise up on eagle's wings Carebear (Is.40:28-31) In the times of my greatest weakness...I have experienced His strength. I love that Scripture you quoted (2 Cor.12:9). It has been a stronghold for me when it doesn't "feel" like I can bear up. Thank God His word goes beyond what we feel. |
