Fr. Vazken. I want to begin my response with an example. When we go into a fast food restaurant, we have a numbered menu in front of us. They are standards to that restaurant so we have to choose one of them because we don't have other choices. No custom made menus. Personally i consider myself an outsider regarding these church rules and regulations. I agree with you in the spirit of Sardarabad. That should be a celebration of victory and a medal of pride on armenians chests. We have to know about it and celebrate it in an upbeat tone, But is there any precast prayer to contain that spirit. We have to honor our heros in that battle and remember them by requiem, but it should be followed by a toast. This has to be a special order, custom made in each church separately. taking into consideration the circumstances and then we can present an alternative. Adopt new methods more dynamic, more flexible in celebrating life in living the life of love. Love God and love each other by the power of the holy spirit , our helper in life.

I apologize in advance for barging in on your blog, because I know nothing about your denomination or your heritage...but it is refreshing to read words that point toward the life and celebration that is ours universally in Christ.

We are somewhat hemmed in by the past and limited by the boundaries of the present, but where He exists in every nation of believers, despite the conflicts and victories that mark our individual histories, there is but one future that we celebrate with awe...even as we pay tribute to those whose path marked the way for countless others.
