| Are You Jesus? |
|
| |
This trip started out like most others…rushing around trying to get everything done that needed done before we left and packed before we took off. Watching people while waiting on a flight can be an interesting adventure. Most people don’t look at you. They just go on their merry way and mind their own business. I often wonder, if like the bible says, I am seeing Jesus in these people, if He is actually there and I am just seeing a human being. Was the man that I stopped to talk to that was traveling with his pet dog, Jesus? Was the person I let go ahead of me when boarding the plane, Jesus? While at the baseball game that my family and I went to during our time with them in Colorado, the people that were oh so annoying sitting behind us, that never stopped talking, cussing right and left, spilling beer on my mother-in-law and nephew, and being loud and annoying all through the game, were any of them Jesus? The homeless looking man, holding a cup in one hand and holding his pants up with the other, that was begging for money on the streets while we were out sightseeing, was he perhaps Jesus? Was the girl sitting behind us on the flight home, talking to another man about the Koran and her Muslim beliefs, possibly Jesus? More importantly, did any of these people see Jesus in me? Did anyone think that perhaps I might be Jesus in human clothing? Did they think about how they acted and what Jesus would think if He saw them right then? To be Continued…. |

| hehe, Deb, I think I can assure you that none of those people was Jesus. But then I know you knew that....interesting point, though. Did they see Jesus in you? I'd bet that most of them didn't even notice you....most folks are so focused on whatever they're focused on that they don't even see Jesus when he really is standing right in front of them....which I'll bet he does from time to time. Great blog! Of course, one of my thoughts was...oh great, one of these blogs where I have to wait to read the continuation! haahaa.. That's ok, you're building my character by making me wait! lol |

Thought provoking.I wish I could say that people always saw Jesus in me,but just like those people in their bubble,in teh airport,I get soooo busy doing my thing, that I often never reach out. |

What I have learned? The real God, the real Jesus -- you know Him when you see Him --
we just have to make sure we are accurately representing Him as much as we are able to -- Ambassadors -
(2Co 3:2) You yourselves are all the endorsement we need. Your very lives are a letter that anyone can read by just looking at you. Message
Thanks Kelsey's Auntie

| Do others see Jesus in me... if we would just remember that question when life's little trials come our way. Great blog!! |

Mike, great thoughts and I thank you for sharing them. Sorry you will just have to wait for the continuation. God is always making me wait so I have to teach what I have learned :)
racunpoodle, I would say that I am the same way. Life does keep us busy, and looking more internally that externally.
Mrs. W., great statements...I really like the Message's version of 2Co 3:2. We are a letter that anyone can read by looking at us...and we should be reflecting Christ.
Cheryl, Amen to that...remember that we should be portraying Christ in all we do, even in the tough times. |

| It is so true that we may be the only Bible some people ever read, do we conduct ourselves in a way that Jesus' light shines through us. We never know who may be observing us. It is my prayer that I'm never found doing or saying anything that would make me ashamed if I found Jesus standing physically in my midst. |

| It's a good/God way to think! |

Very interesting. I get that way sometimes, where I have to remind myself I'm living in a different frame of mind now. Lara: I like your comment. Creative! |

Shirley, Amen to that! I always think of Jesus standing right next to me watching what I do over my shoulder...which He probably is. I don't want to do anything that would not please Him.
Lara, what you say is so true.
Jen, thank you. And yes, we do have to remember that we are to live differently now. |

Deb,
Thanks for the blog, thought-provoking. It brings to mind a rule I try to enforce in my house (although it doesn't always work with a 9 year old and a 5 year old). I encourage all of us to try not to say or do anything unless we would say or do it to Jesus. I hope as we grow, people will see Jesus in us because of our words and actions.

| Stacey, what a great idea to do with your kids....and others...with your kids, even if they don't do it all the time, you are starting out building on a firm foundation with them that they will carry with them. |
