I was up early this morning working on my Wednesday sermon. I teach every Wednesday at our church and I have recently begun a series on the book of Matthew. I have been looking at some core teaching my Jesus on six areas in our lives that have one thing in common how we treat others. This week I am dealing with the last one which is love your enemies.
5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others]? do not even the publicans so? 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. You can find a chart for these six areas at my lesson handout. Today I continue working on my sermon series Heaven Help the Home and my lesson for Wednesday. Dentist today :( Seasoned Saints :) Staff Meetings :0 I have to run to the dentist. But as I studied this passage in Matthew I realized how high Jesus set the standard and realized once again that I can't live this kind of life in my own strength. The supernatural life takes supernatural power. I lost two of the pounds I gained in GA :) I had a cup of Paul Newman's special blend this morning :) Have a great day catch you later. |
