"He restoreth my soul."
From a shepherds point of view this goes deeper than what we city-folk comprehend. The term "down-cast" derives from being "cast". In sheep language to be cast means to have laid down and can't get back up. This happens to sheep and they can die from it. Sometimes the sheep lays down in his favorite rut and gets stuck in a position and can't get up. He could die right there, if the shepherd doesn't come along and "restore" him. ---Enough said. I'm sure you can gather the similarities between people and sheep! |
