| Service of Calling & Ordination into the Sacred Priesthood |

Tonight two priests were ordained into the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church - Fr. Khajag and Fr. Avedis. Below is a link to a slideshow from the two-day event, which began with the Service of Calling on Wednesday night and was completed today with the Ordination into the Sacred Priesthood. Witnessing this ordination, where opportunities don't come around all the time, was a renewal and blessing for us, and very emotionally moving. During parts of the service I was getting goosebumps and the ladies sitting around me were shedding tears of joy. You'll notice the background of the slideshow is a burning candle. I chose that on purpose based on the words of Metropolitan Gerasimos of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco, who offered a few words to the newly ordained priests. He said that a priest must be like a candle that is always lit ~ a beautiful analogy. For those who were unable to make these services, I hope these pictures will offer you a glimpse and allow you to be a part of the experience in some small measure.
