this is tough --which one Lord? Ok - this is the one -- Proverbs 3:4 So shall you find favor, good understanding, and high esteem in the sight [or judgment] of God and man. Keep preaching, keep believing, know God is working for you - so you keep working for Him! |

from another blog my Man...
| Another thought Scott has a huge opportunity to do as Apostle Paul did 1:13 So that it became clear through all the Praetorium, and to all the rest, that I was a prisoner on account of Christ; 1:14 And most of the brothers in the Lord, taking heart because of my chains, are all the stronger to give the word of God without fear.
God will bless you both

Scott, HOLY MACKEREL, did you EVER accomplish as much for GOD on the "outside" as you are accomplishing right now? You probably don't even realize all the people you are encouraging and inspiring with your courageous stand for Christ in that jail, your humble service for your fellow inmates, and your patient approach to the apparent injustice of your situation... Our prayers, our hearts, are with you!!! God bless you, brother! ~mike (n laura) |

Scott,
Ruth posts parts of your letters here and they are always an encouragement to me. I eagerly await each and every one - probably not as much as she does - in anticipation of seeing how God is working through you. He provided you a wonderful wife in just the right time. One of my daily prayers is that He will bring the two of you back together in just the right time, too. I have told many people about you and Ruth. Your life, while so very difficult at this time, is a true testimony of how a husband and wife support each other through tough times. It is also a testimony of serving the Lord right where you are. Many of us wonder, and hope we never find out, if we could do the same. Perhaps that is why your testimony is so powerful.
Today I was at the church doing some work and I talked to one of the guys who has become a very good friend of mine. He was preparing to go to the jail tonight for ministry. It is the very same jail he was in for almost 18 months, and, I think, he was a repeat visitor. He says his life is completely changed today because he found Christ while in the jail. He made so many mistakes trying to do it on his own, and, in his words, he was traveling through life so fast that the jail was the only way God could slow him down long enough to get his attention. He is 50 years old now and has been out of jail since 2001. He is doing well. It hasn't been easy for him, but he has stayed focused on the Lord every step since he got out. He is married and just took a full time job at the church doing the maintenance work. He is so happy now and he knows where that happiness comes from - from Jesus in his heart. Please share his story with others who might be interested.
I prayed last night for what I should write here. God brought me to the church this morning to talk to Jim which was God's perfect timing. God also put on my heart Joshua 1:9.
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." That is my prayer for you, Scott...that you will be strong and not discouraged...because He goes with you. |

Scott... We all feel as if we know you! And we do as brothers and sisters in the Lord, you are part of Our Forever Family in Christ! Be strong and be encouraged --we pray for you daily, that God will continue to do a mighty work through you while you are in your present circumstances. May you continue to praise His name and glory in His accomplishments. As you do so, know that we, as a cloud of witnesses here, are constanly marveling at God's grace because of your efforts! May your men be blessed mightily and be encouraged through God's ministry to them. I can't say this loud enough! Keep your minister Scott, and his brethren safe, LORD! Your Sweet-heart is beating out here without you close by, and though we know it is difficult for her, you need to know that she is a great encouragement to us with her acceptance of God's sovereign will. What a witness you two are! Stay strong and stay in His perfect will! Great blessings and grace to you my brother! Your brother Hal |

| Dear Scott, I visit our local corrections center once a month to minister there. I know that it is not easy to be there. But i pray in the Name of Jesus Christ our wonderful Savior, that until the day you are released, you will be surrounded by His presence, His love, His peace and His protection. I pray Lord God right now that you would surround Scott mentally, physically and spiritually with a hedge of protection. I pray that he will feel the warmth of your glory shining down on him morning, noon and night. And that he would reflect that glory back onto the people in the jail starting with the prisoners right to the guards and warden. I ask dear Lord if you would please soften the heart of the judge and other governing authorities to let him go. Oh Lord i pray that in the dark hours of the night, You will speak with that still small voice and remind him that you are Jehovah Shammah. You are there with him, always have and always will. I thank you Lord for your faithfulness. Please bless our brother and Lord touch the hearts of the inmates there. Let them see that you hear even the whispers of our hearts. Please let him be released soon, back to his wife, family and friends. In Jesus' Name i pray. Amen. |
