| Depart from Evil |

3:7 Put no high value on your wisdom: let the fear of the Lord be before you, and keep yourself from evil: My arrogance gets me into trouble sometimes. I enter into situations I think I'm strong enough to handle, and I forget to seek Your direction Father. Then I stumble. I hurt myself and others just because I don't fear You as much as I should. Instead of fleeing evil, I walk right into its path. Change my attitude. Help me to walk according to Your wisdom.
This mornings lesson at Chuch was about Josiah who became a king at age 8. Unbelievable isn't it. (2 Chonicles 34-35) He did wonderful things for The Lord. After he celebrated The Passover King Neco of Egypt led his army against the Assyrians on the Euphrates River. Josiah declared war on him. King Neco sent him a message saying he did not want to fight with Josiah. King Neco told Josiah to leave him alone that God had told him to hurry. "Don't meddle with God or He will destroy you, for He is with me". Josiah refused to believe that Neco's message was from God. Josiah was wounded and then died. (Josiah did not go to The Lord about this - he did it on his own)
We must keep our eyes on The Lord - some things are NOT our battles.
