| Please Pray |
|
| |
Dear MyChurch Family,
Please pray for a friend of mine who got some real bad news. He went in for a MRI on Friday, due to the fact that he lost his peripheral vision. He was also having trouble with his short term memory. They found a 4 inch tumor on his brain and said they need to do brain surgery tomorrow. While he was waiting for the surgery, he had a stroke. His name is John and he is only in his 50's.
Please pray for John, his wife Wanda and their son BJ. I have known John for about 18 years, and was always the kind of person who was right there for anyone who needed a helping hand. Now he is in much need of your prayers. Would you please take a few moments to pray for my friend? This is quite a shock to all who know and love him.
Thank you for your prayers.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray and believe for John to have a successful surgery. I praise you that you are with him, and that your healing has already begun in his life. I speak life over this man and not death. I speak health and complete victory in the name of Jesus. I praise you for what you are doing in his life and for showing yourself strong on his behalf. Amen |

| Thanks again for your prayers. I haven't heard anything yet. But they said the surgery should take about 5 - 6 hours. So I am assuming that the surgery is being done now. Please pray... |

Update: I saw John tonight and he is in good spirits. They thought they got 98% of the tumor out, but after another MRI, they had only gotten 50%. So a surgeon at Johns Hopkins suggested that he have surgery again. The 2nd surgery was done last week, and they now say that 90% has been removed. The first report of 98% was what they thought they had originally gotten out, and that turned out to not be the case.
So he has had two brain surgeries in the past month, and he is doing much better than expected. They told him he may never walk or talk again, and he is doing both. He has forgotten a huge chunk of his life, but can remember much more than they expected. When he first came out of surgery, he said he couldn't even remember what a bed was when asked. But this is all coming back. He still has trouble writing and can't remember many of the larger words he once knew. He can no longer drive, since he lost a good part of his vision.
Thanks to your prayers, he is holding up rather nicely. He is filled with the joy and peace of God. He was encouraging to be around. Please pray about the upcoming chemo and radiation treatments.
May the Lord bless you for praying and caring! |
