3:1Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to the mountain of God, unto Horeb. 3:2 And the angel of Jehovah appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. 3:3 And Moses said, I will turn aside now, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. 3:4 And when Jehovah saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. 3:5And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
Moses wasn't just out in the wilderness saying, "God, where are You at." He wasn't looking for God at all. It was God who found Moses. In fact, it took a BIG BURNING BUSH to just to catch Moses' attention!
I have heard people say, "I am in hot pursuit of God....or I'm chasing God," but really I think that most of the time it is God who pursuits us. Thankfully too. In our world today, there are so many distractions...Work, T.V., Kids, Phone, Family, and even "church". But God still seeks to capture our attention. Thank You Father!
Most of the time we think that if God is present, then as believers we should know. Moses didn't know that he was standing on Holy Ground. God had to tell him. We need to realize that "coming into the Presence of God" doesn't mean that we need to know His exact location and being there. Just because Sister so and so's church is experiencing God's Presence doesn't mean we need to hop over there. Don't get me wrong...it is good to visit other churches, but you don't have to pack up and leave everytime you hear God is moving! God constantly surrounds us all. He is living INSIDE of YOU!
If you are a Blood Bought, Born again, Believer then you can enter in whenever you want. You never have to leave His Presence because He is with you. (Josh. 1:9) When we begin to understand this, then that first step to true praise and worship has been taken.
Moses didn't have any special training in praise and worship. His sudden...(Don't you love the suddenlies) awareness of God's Presence preceded his training in worship. I believe as humans, we ALL have the desire to worship someone or something. Out of our desire to worship, we create what we think worship should be. God told Moses that as a sign that he was the one to go to Egypt, that he would return to Mount Horeb and worship Him.
Three months later...Moses led the people from Egypt and they did just that. Our "It's Sunday, Let's Worship" attitudes skip and important step and we are missing out on the Real Thing. Like Moses, true worship can only begin when we recognize God and prepare our hearts to listen to HIM! |

Great blog sis! Sometimes I don't realize God was there, till it's all over and I have time to sit and think about it, LOLOL I have heard stories about people not feeling God in a certain church.........hmmmm, I wonder if they've ever thought about the fact that it might just be them, not the church? |

| Well, once again, a much wiser lady told me that He is with me all the time, no matter where I go...He is there. Now, if that means at home, the grocery store, the ball park, out of town...He is still there....We have got to learn to recognize that! Love you lady!! |

| I believe that we should live our lives with attitudes of worship and in this belief, I agree with your post. God is always with us and we don't need to be in a special place at a certain time to praise and worship our God and for that I praise and thank Jesus! God bless you!! |
