| Un-Confessed Sins=Destruction? |
| |
Un-confessed Sins=Destruction? Could it be that many are afflicted with sickness of body, soul, and spirit due to a secret life of un-confessed sins? It may be “big” sins or “little” sins that go un-confessed such as; jealousy, envy, strife, a haughty look, or stealing toilet paper from work. J Sin is sin to God and he takes no measure of weight of any type. As saved Christians, we are washed pure and made white by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. How then could it be right to defile the temple of the Holy Spirit by harboring un-confessed sin? I think God knows we are going to make a mistake. He is very understanding and patient with us. He does not scold us for sinning, as much as HE does for not confessing the sin. When we refuse to acknowledge sin, it begins to pollute and defile the body. David said this is Psalms 32:3 “When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away.” David understood that his un-confessed sin was creating destruction in his life. Please be aware that I am not teaching that we should be sin conscious all the time. We are the redeemed and there is grace. This is a message that is meant to mature us in our walk with the Lord. God is asking us today to take an evaluation of our lives. He wants us to confess any un-forgiveness or other sin to HIM so that we may be free in our thoughts, and to some, even in your bodies. Look what David said a few verses down in Psalms 32:5 “Finally, I confessed all my sins to YOU and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, I will confess my rebellion to the Lord, and YOU forgave me, all my guilt is gone.” God knows all and sees all. He is patient and kind and loving. He desires us to come clean with ourselves! Stop deceiving ourselves, thinking no one sees our sin. Chances are someone sees it and they are praying for you to repent. I really sense that this message is meant to provoke us to good works. I know that I have had God uses others to chastise me when I did not confess my sin to God. It was embarrassing & hurtful, but it was necessary, because I know HE loves me and will not allow me to become polluted. I hope no one gets offended by this message. It is meant to encourage growth in your life. I believe God will use this to reach those HE intends it to reach. Shalom! God bless you all! I love you all! | Excellent lady! I'll return the toilet paper...hehe!! |
| Cheryl! I was wondering who would be the first to confess to be the toilet paper stealer! LOL! |
I don't steal toilet paper like you people do...lol But I totally agree about this fact. As a matter of fact, the whole idea of suffering in this world is related, if you think about it, to sin being 'unreleased' in this world. The sins that are not forgiven and were not forgiven in the past and present make their mark on this flawed creation - sicknesses, diseases, turmoil on a global scale is prooff of this, and it's how the enemy can keep the Gospel out of the ears and hearts of those that need to hear it, to understand that THEIR sins can be washed away by the blood of Christ. Cool post! |
Growing~So you don't steal toilet paper, but what about the coffee cream and sugar packets from the gas station? LOL (J/K) Another thought, welfare scams, tax cheats, etc. We self justify that something may be owed to us, and thus we steal to get it. Our welfare departments are suffering from scams all the time. I know someone who pays back loans by sharing their food stamp card!
Ok, it was not my intention to point out sins in this blog. I am not the judge. God is, and HE inspired this blog. God is saying stop cheating the governement. This is immature, and if you do not stop you will reap destruction to yourself. |

Good thoughts Shannon! Yes, sin can result in physical suffering. But all physical suffering is not necessarily the direct result of a person's sin. Remember this, from our Lord,
As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. (John 9:1-3) |

Right on Mike! You are correct. Not all sin= destruction in the flesh. But the wages of sin is death... For the most part, I am speaking of the un-confessed sin. It is not even the sin I feel emphases on, but the confessions of sins. We can confess our sins to God in a private manner and no one has to even know about it. I do know that the new testament says to confess your sins one to another so that you may be healed. I believe that is for the sole purpose of accountability. Sometimes we can lie to the Holy Spirit and confess sins, but not mean it. As a the body, we can be a support system to help each other keep their word. Funny, I just had a visual image of people feeling free enough to confess their sins openly on a reugular basis. It could be the new cool thing to do, kinda like the name it and claim it projects, or speaking to your mountain thing. I had an interesting thought once, (uh oh! lol) "You are not really free from sin until you are not ashamed to talk about your past sins." I don;t meant to hold on to this past now. This is what I mean. Example: I know Billy from Sky Joy Ministry. He use to be in the sex industry years ago. He is now saved and unashamed to talk about the raw topic of the sex industry. He is FREE! No shame. This is his ministry. Shame is a good tester to see if you are really free from sin and condemnation! Jesus has set us free, but have you set your mind free? Thanks for bringing this in to the topic Mike. I appreciate you comments! |

I get angry at my husband for not listening to me. Sometimes I stay angry, because he doesn't "get it". Then I go out and pray about it, and confess my sins to God.
Sometimes, I think I sin without knowing it. Does that make sense. Once, I tried to a whole day without sinning. This was a long time ago. I don't think I made it. |
| You're right Joey. I don't think we can go a day w/o sinning, unless we sleep all day, and then that could be considered gluttany of sleep, and thus...A SIN. LOL! That is why I said, this is not a sin blog, but a confession blog. It keeps our hearts clear when we confess. :) I get mad at my hubby too sometimes. We can be angry and sin not, although that scripture can be gray, and not black and white if we are not careful, thus the need to confess it to a friend perhaps. :) |
| Offend me all you want. It is for my own good! There are consequences for sin, no matter how great or how minor. When God tells us not to eat of the "fruit of the tree" it is for our own good. We fool ourselves if we think we get away with it. If a theif be found he has to repay seven times. God knows and be sure your sin will find you out. Thre is always a price to pay for sin. Why do you think Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sin? Holiness is not really an option for us. We are to Holy as He is holy. When we are tempted to sin, God always makes a way to escape. Anyway, I have quit commenting and gone to preaching! Thanks for the message and the reminder! |
| Big hugs to you Bro Todd for the freedom to offend you. lol! What you say is true. I should not have sayed that perhaps. What's the scripture that says, "To some snatch them out of the fire?" Some people need to be talked straight to, yet others can be won with a gentle voice. I was trying to be gentle, but thank you for bringing the sterness needed for the ones who may need it. |

Yeah, I know the effect this sort of thing has had on me, that's why I replied with my kudos to it. It's a tricky thing to talk about, even among Christians because many will think that the verse Mike quoted is the way around this - but sin and suffering do exist and sometimes those that are innocent will suffer - not due to their sin, or their parents, but just being in a world that is not 100% purified or freed of the sin or it's effects. That idea on the global scale is what helped me along to understanding why I NEEDED to be saved, but it's still a struggle to understand or fully fathom 100% forgiveness. I'll keep trying though ;) |

| Well Growing, you are right! Look at the natural destruction's. Is it not the hand of the Lord? OK, I am going to share something w/you that the Lords showed me.It is touchy and I hope someone does not criticise me for it. If they do, oh well. When the towers fell in New York, I heard the Spirit of the Lord cry out in my ears, Alas! Alas! the tower of babel has fallen! I had just been in the scriptures that morning and got that word. Then, when I saw them falling on the news, that is when I heard the cry in my ears. It was almost audible. I was shaken! The merchants from over the seas will trade with you no more, is what the word said. Is this not judgment? Now, there were 3 kinds of people in the tower. 1. had ears to hear and got out 2. had ears to hear, but did not listen and obey 3. had no ears to hear. I think it was a terrible thing that happened, but I believe it was a judgement. Does not God use evil for His own purpose? Think of the Israelites. They were told to spread blood on their door post so that the Angel of Death that God was sending would not harm them. They had ears to hear and obeyed. |

I also wanted to ask if anyone else noticed the scripture that has been posted today on our home page? It seems fitting.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. |

| Barvubuela, Thanks for being so candid. Growing in Faith I want to pick up on something you said, thank you, for bringing this up. Most of us understand that not all sickness is a derived from sin. Satan attacked Job, and God allowed it to happen when Job was a righteous man. Of course the great lesson by Jesus, that sickness is an opportunity for us to show the power and love of God as Mike pointed out. However, Paul said "some are sick among you and many sleep." for taking the Lord's supper in an unworthy manner. James, connected healing with confession of sin. "Is there any sick among you?... let him confess and it will be forgiven him ...confess your faults (sin) one to another and pray for one another that you might be healed." Aaron and Miriam are a good example of how quick judment can come on someone for sin, and how quick it can be lifted with repentance. I am well aware that this messes with a lot of people's theology, but what you say is true. "Fear the LORD and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh an strenght to your bones." Prov 3:7-8 obedience brings health and disobedience brings the opposite. Like Forest Forest Gump says, "That's all I got to say about that." |

| Power points Bro Todd! Thanks for your input. It is appreciated and very helpful! |
| Barvubuela, I know what you are saying. You will take a lot of flack for that. John Hagee got smeared for saying the New Orleans had a certain amount of sin, that was in the city and God judged it. If you have followed the election you noticed that he got in trouble for saying that God used Hitler to create awareness for the Jewish people and eventually home land for the Jewish people. No body likes or liked what happened, but we have to ask ourselves if there is something for us to learn from it all. Be prepared for what will come with that statement, but some may mean it for evil, but God means it for good. |
| Bro Todd. Thanks for your words of warning and words of encouragement. As far as New Orleans, doesn't the word Katrina mean Purification? New Orleans was becoming defiled like Sodom and Gommora. God destroyed Sodom, and He is the same today, yesterday, and forever. REPENT AMERICA! God loves you and wants you to turn to HIM willingly, not forcefully. |

God is a God of love even through times when there is suffering. God will NEVER come down here and FORCE us to follow or repent or accept Christ. It has to be our choice to submit. One day He will return and then it will be too late, but God wants us to choose His love and His plan for us - and if suffering makes us realize our need for a savior, then it does what it is supposed to. But very often the enemy uses suffering as a way to say 'there is no God" or "why would you worship a God that makes you suffer?" I remember that the definition of 'crisis' is a turning point - and it's the point at which we must choose the forward path. Now, I don't think any of us should speak outright on what God's will is, but there is a level of discernment that shows this to be the case. I only say this to make it known that I do not believe that good people are made to suffer by the Lord, but He allows it to happen for one of three reasons: 1. It is the by-product of other sinfulness in this environment (a fallen creation) and 'stopping it' would be a forcing, and against His covenant with us that we would have dominion over this creation. (sick or dying babies, destruction of the environment, the seemingly chaotic suffering in the world). 3. It will serve as a strengthener or His will in the future for or through us. (Job, our personal trials, etc.) 3. It will serve a greater, future good in fulfilling His will for others (oh,that's the tough one though, ain't it, since we might NEVER see the result of it, but our reaction and submission to it might be!) |

| I posted that link b/c we are focusing on confessions in this blog. When the motives of the heart are wrong, then the confession can not be there. If it is there it will not be a pure confession. Examples of wrong motives: I will confess my sins to the Lord, "but not really change a thing, just go through motions." WRONG MOTIVE! |

It's taken years for me to get to the point where I can confess that I have broken all of the 10 commandments repeatedly throughout my lifetime, at least according to the Sermon on the Mount that Jesus preached in Matthew chapter 5-6. In God's eyes, thinking angry thoughts is equal to murder. So, I deserve death row! I'm guilty!!! In God's eyes, thinking lustful thoughts about someone other than our spouse is the same as adultery. Guilty! I've stolen. I've lied. I've dishonored my parents. I've broken the Sabbath. I've had idols before God. I've failed to worship God! I HAVE BEEN A VERY BAD GIRL!!! God's standards are SO much higher than our human standards.
I always thought I had been a pretty good girl. WRONG! God reminded me of one time when I was a little girl, maybe age 5, and my older brother had a friend over. For some reason unbeknownst to me, I took my shirt off. Of course, at age 5, it was probably not all that exciting. However, God showed me that I had sinful tendencies from birth. In essense, I was a former stripper! Thank God I became a Christian at age 12, or who knows what I'd be doing for a living now!!! I praise God for his GRACE and MERCY!!! I thank Him for delivering me from GUILT and SHAME. I thank Him for breaking off generational curses! HE IS AWESOME!!! |
| Sandra, I think it was normal to run around with no shirt at that age. - been there, done that! -glad we out grew it! Lol!- rejoice in your salvation and all mankinds salvation. |
