Waitress Alert!
|

3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for them that make peace.
She entered the cafe with her Bible in hand, and asked for only a seat for one. The first waitress snubbed her nose at her and passed her off to a frail, worn-out looking woman who was young in years but old in life. The customer only asked for a glass of sweet tea for she didn't have much money and wanted to just come in and rest. Through out her life she has had 'date nights' with God. These dates consisted of reading her word, listening to Him, singing in her heart, feeling loved and cherished by her husband...God, for she was a single woman.
Several weeks had gone by and she decided it was time for another date night. this time she had some money on her and decided to have the chicken Cesar salad. The frail waitress stepped up to wait on her and after she brought her the meal, she asked where she went to church at. Responding and sharing a little of her own life-story to the lady, she invited her to her church after she found out the lady did not have a church home. A smile gleamed over the waitress and she shared how angry she was at God and did not understand why somethings happen in life. They discussed these things and the woman added to her story which included child abuse and spousal abuse, neglect, and pain. She left the table and remarked, "I knew you were the right one to ask...I saw you come in here last week and say how you love God. I know He is real, I just don't know Him like you nor love Him. I want that." Writing down the church address and times and her personal phone number.....she welcomed her to come.
After the waitress had left the table, the woman was thankful for her previous testimony to this lady...for she was upset at being snubbed at, passed off to the 'lesser' waitress, and almost forgot to tip the lady. What a disaster that would have been, plus her silverware was dirty and the table was wet, excuses, excuses, excuses...for detrimental bad-behavior. thank you Father that I did not act that way as my heart prompted me to. May you lead this woman into your fold Lord.
May we all be in tune to the spiritual side of life even in casual situations.....non-Christians are always watching us.

Good story Chell, and it was a good point you made right at the end. May we all be in tune to the spiritual side of life even in casual situations... cos once people say they're a Chrsitian- all eyes on them, and in some cases - they'll do everything to show you up.

Thanks for this. We do not know what others are going through unless they tell us themselves. We have to watch how we behave in all situations. We do not know who will come to God because of us or will not have any thing to do with God because of us.
