| Comparison Shopping |

10:12 Not that we venture to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another, and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.
In today’s world comparison shopping is a fact of life, and can be very beneficial. I can’t count how many times I have been standing in a grocery aisle comparing two different brands of the same product. One may be healthier then the other or one may cost less and offer more. Doing comparison in this case only makes sense. Where it can become dangerous is when we try to compare ourselves to another person. This is not the Father’s desire for His children; we are all specially blessed with our own talents, and to compare ourselves only divides us. The comparisons only fuel feelings of pride, bitterness, and jealousy which are tools used in an attempt to divide the citizens of the Kingdom of God. Someone will always be taller, faster, stronger, or even smarter, but God loves us you just as much as anyone else. Instead I think we should all strive to compare ourselves to Jesus, only through Him will we be all the things we think we are not. Comparison shopping saves, in relationships it kills.
