| Joy In Serving |
|
| |
There is great joy in servant-hood! There is a special joy that comes to those who give of themselves to others. When we give, without any expectation to receive anything in return is what a true servant is. To give out of a heart of love, rather than under compulsion is so much more powerful! To give of your time, and your effort to better or bless some one else is a feeling that money can not buy! Servants get very little recognition. Servants are usually counted upon the most. Servants usually have the hardest and least glamorous jobs out there. But, there is something wonderful that happens when you serve. I think it is because you tap into the attitude Christ Jesus had. Jesus came not to be served but to serve and to give His life as ransom for many. Jesus was a bond-servant for you and me giving everything He could possibly give, His very life. I find it to be a total joy to serve others.
Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, "If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all." Mark 9:35 NIV
I have 5 children, and I think I have seen almost every children's movie ever made. I am amazed at the Spiritual lessons that can be learned from these movies. I got to thinking today as I was singing a song from "Beauty and the Beast": "Be Our Guest" to myself, about this part of the song. It'll make you shout Hallelujah!
Life is so unnerving For a servant who's not serving He's not whole without a soul to wait upon Ah, those good old days when we were useful... Suddenly those good old days are gone Ten years we've been rusting Needing so much more than dusting Needing exercise, a chance to use our skills!
What good is a servant who is not serving? Where is the usefulness or the purpose in that? Servants serve, and if a servant is not serving the servant is not completely fulfilled without a soul to wait upon. I have seen many Christians and servants of the Most High God sit around and rust and collect dust. These servants have been gifted and anointed by God to fulfill their divine purpose and be a blessing to the Body of Christ, but just like these captives in the Castle in the movie, Beauty and the Beast, many servants of God are living under a curse that keeps them from being the servants of God they are intended to be. Shake off those heavy bands! Rebuke the enemy and get out there and serve and give yourself away for the glory of God! The benefits are out of this world!
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. I Cor 4:2 KJV

Once again...I was tremendously blessed by this message. This is truly the heart of the Father for us, His Children, to use those gifts and talents that He has entrusted into our care...I quote the scripture that you shared at the end all the time...for YES....it is required in stewards, that a man be found *faithful*. If we can be *faithful* over a few things...then our God will make us ruler over much! I don't know about anybody else, but I want Him to say *well done, thou good and faithful servant...you have been faithful over a few things..enter into the joy of the Lord, and I will make you ruler over much!*
Your attitude determines your altitude...Let us all be faithful stewards over the portion that has been given to us, diligently working with a servants heart! |

| your right on the mark, a servant feels joy (that some people can't comprehend) when they are serving.....may i always stay humbled before my Lord, may he always find me faithful in my duties to him, and may i always have joy when i am serving.......... |

Todd I love this message. I love to serve others, wish I could serve even more. I dont need recognition for it, as you say, because when I serve I feel close to God. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful message.

WE SOMEONE TRULY WANTS TO SERVE THE LORD, YOU NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT " ARE THEY GONNA BE THERE OR NOT?" THEY ARE ALWAYS THERE EAGER TO DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. IF THEY HAVE A CERTAIN JOB IN THE CHURCH, THEY SERVE GLADLY BECAUSE THEY LOVE THE LORD. THE TRUE SERVERS NEVER COMPLAIN BECAUSE THEY REALIZE THAT JESUS WENT THROUGH A LOT WHEN HE DIED FOR THEM, AND SUFFERED WITHOUT COMPLAINING. THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TRUE SERVERS AND THE ONES THAT SERVE FOR THE PRAISE OF MAN. IF SOMEONE SERVES FOR THE PRAISE OF MAN, THEN THE MEANING OF BEING A SERVANT OF THE LORD IS LOST. THOSE PEOPLE WILL NEVER EXPERIENCE THE TRUE JOY THAT COMES FROM ALWAYS BEING AWARE OF THE PAIN AND SUFFERING THAT JESUS ACTUALLY WENT THROUGH FOR ALL OF US. I LOOK AT SERVING AND HONORING HIM IS JUST ANOTHER WAY THAT I CAN SAY "THANK YOU" FOR WHAT YOU DID FOR ME ON THE CROSS !!! |
