Why has the Lord's prayer endured as one of the favorite prayers of all time? 1. It teaches us to worship 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 2. It teaches us to submit to God's will 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven. 3. It teaches us to trust God 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread. 4. It teaches us to forgive 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. |
