| Butterfly Kisses |

127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
|  | | My 9 year old almost 10 year old daughter Hannah call me into her room and told me to listen to a song. She said that it was about us. I can't describe to you how that song ministered to me that night. The song she played for me was "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisle. I have to tell you, that the song would always make me cry. Not because it was so sweet, but because it made me feel so guilty. I have always felt like a lousy father and that song would remind me of all that I wasn't. When Hannah was just toddler we were separated by an unwanted and unfortunate divorce. Time has passed and I have healed from the divorce and have done the very best I could for my children since. Every summer she comes to stay with us and we both enjoy that time so much. Any way, she played the song for me and I realized that I was not that far off. Satan loves to beat us up, shame us, and to tell us that we are less than. That night, I felt the love and admiration of my daughter towards me, and she felt my love for her as she crawled up in my arms and had a good cry together. The song that I hated, all of the sudden became a comfort to me. One of the lines go, "With all that I have done wrong, I must have done something right, to deserve a hug every morning and butterfly kisses at night." With all that I have done wrong, I must have done something right to have her still love me. I am telling you, it was precious and something I will never forget! God is so good! Sometimes when bad things happen to us, we think to ourselves: How will this ever be OK? God promises us in His word that "all things work together" for the good to them that love the Lord and to them that are the called according to His purpose." Roms 8:28 It was one of those bittersweet moments, feeling the great loss of time and the pain, but some how what was really important was redeemed by the LORD. I thought I would share this with you, that God is faithful and He has a way of restoring what the locusts have eaten. | |

There's two things I know for sure:
She was sent here from heaven and she's
daddy's little girl.
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes and
I thank god for all the joy in my life
Oh, but most of all
For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer;
sticking little white flowers all up in her
hair; "Walk beside the pony, Daddy, it's my first ride."
"I know the cake looks funny, Daddy, but I sure tried."
In all that I've done wrong I know I must
have done something right to deserve a hug
every morning and butterfly kisses at night. Sweet 16 today She's looking like her mama a little more everyday
One part woman, the other part girl.
To perfume and make-up from ribbons and curls
Trying her wings out in a great big world. But I remember
Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer; sticking
little white flowers all up in her hair.
"You know how much I love you, Daddy, But if you
don't mind I'm only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time."
With all that I've done wrong I must have done
something right to deserve her love every morning
and butterfly kisses at night. All the precious time Like the wind, the years go by.
Precious butterfly.Spread your wings and fly. She'll change her name today.
She'll make a promise and I'll give her away.
Standing in the bride-room just staring at her.
She asked me what I'm thinking and I said "I'm not
sure-I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl."
She leaned over...gave me butterfly kisses with her mama there,
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair
"Walk my down the aisle, Daddy-it's just about time."
"Does my wedding gown look pretty, Daddy? Daddy, don't cry!" Oh, with all that I've done wrong I must have
done something right. To deserve your love every morning and butterfly
kisses-I couldn't ask God for more, man this is what love is. I know I gotta let her go, but I'll always remember
every hug in the morning and butterfly kisses at night. |

| Wow. God is so awesome in our lives. It doesn't matter how you start, but how you finish. Your daughter will always remember the small things--the kisses and the hugs from her Dad. My Dad has been deceased for 12 years and no one, no one has ever been able to take his place in my heart. Your baby girl knows you love her. In the picture of you and her, she is glowing with her father's love. |

| Todd, there are NO mistakes in our life, just learning experiences. I thank God for Hannah, my precious grand daughter, and although I don't get to see her, she is loved. i once had this wonderful teacher tell me something that has really stuck with me.....and later after hearing this incredible advice, God, reminded me of something that happend to me when i was a little girl that is to be part of my testimony.......it is amazing how we have so much trouble forgiving ourselves.......
my teacher told me,"you have got to put your behind in your past."
it is difficult to do,and even harder to forgive yourself,but God has away of letting you know that you are forgiven and it is where it is,in the past,so keep looking to the future...luv ya lots |

Shelly: How are things? Are you guys drying out? Thanks for the kinds words!
Grandma: No mistakes...I like that. I do cherish these moments all is right with the world when I have all 5 kids together. Tires me out for sure, but I feel whole and content.
Jetta: You really must have had a wise teacher! LOL....It is so not fair to use my own preaching and advice against me. When I am under the annointing, I don't really remember what I am saying! You are so right, and I am growing and learning. That message last Wednesday was as much for me as it was for anyone else.
Charlie: You are right! Doubly Blessed. Like Job. God is good no matter how many learning experiences we go through, He has a way of turning things around. Thanks for the comment. My mom Grandma 24 and Dad live not too far from you in East Tx need to get over to see you when I am out that way. Have a little fellership. |
