14:9 Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet [thee] at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, [even] all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
I saw a documentary today on MSNBC about Carlton Pearson. I hadn't given him much thought, but we haven't really heard much about him lately. This documentary by MSNBC explains why. We have all heard about the feel good gospel: if you are good you go to heaven, or God loves everyone, a loving God doesn't exclude anyone. But the truth is, God will exclude those who hate Him.
In listening to Carlton Pearson's new perspective on hell, I considered how many people the church hurts, not by telling the truth, but by being judgemental. We have a habit of attempting to qualify people according to their sins. We will accept the liar over the prostitute, a drug addict over an adulterer and an murderer over a homosexual. Our job as ambassadors for Christ and God is to love people to life. One way to achieve that is to remember from whence we came. We are not without flaws, so who are we to judge. We've set the bar so high on what qualifies as a "good Christian" that even ministers like Carlton Pearson are attempting to find ways to include everyone by changing the concept of hell into the "Gospel of Inclusion." This is one portion of the documentary as well as the transcript from the documentary. Take a look and tell me what you think: video: Transcript: http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/14337492/
