Future- Growing My Faith by Taking Risks
Active- Growing My Faith by Giving It Away
Intimate- Growing My Faith Through a Close Relationship With God
Testing- Growin My Faith Through Life's Problems
Hopeful- Growing My Faith By Not Giving Up
9:29 "Jesus said", "According to your faith will it be done to you" Matthew 9:29 NIV A growing faith is one that takes risks.
Remembering God's past activities.
Think back on something in your life that really stood out to you that God did. Remembering is the foundation for risk taking. For me, it was when God brought me home on an airplane (never flown before, hated planes) to my hubby. I took the risk and trusted God, and He showed me what He could do!
Invite God's activity today.
Ask God to use you, take the risk! What is the worst that can happen?
Step up and step out.
If you're not willing to take the risk to step out for God; then the enemy has you right where he wants you.
Know that you're never alone. 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not affrighted, neither be thou dismayed: for Jehovah thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Isn't that awesome?
So, where did this all hit me today? I didn't have any thinking to do on writing down God's past activity.....man I could have written a book on it.
But, then came the hard part........Use me? Invite His activity today? Geeeeeeeee, aren't I busy enough? What if I fail? What if I'm no good?.......ahhhhhhhhhh, satan was working! Truth is I need to unbusy myself, truth is "I" will fail, truth is "I'm" no good........But God will not fail and God is good. Gotta take the "I" out of it and remember that God is going to take me through when I step up and step out........Geeeeeeeeeee, this sermon hurt today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

You know since the first time I talked with you to now, I can see how much growing you have done...your words are sharper and you just drive it home....God uses you alot here....even in the short little one liners...hehehe!!
STOP PREACHING AT ME....OKAY...I'LL GET IT!!! LOL!!! No, really they are hard, but I love this...what a great word...even as much as it does hurt!! Thanks! |

You know in last weeks you said you hadn't looked at faith from that perspective......well, I almost started laughing in church this morn. The pastor began with......"We're looking at faith from a different perspective, in a way that we haven't looked at it before" ROTFLOL |

| On risk taking he brought up what if's...........and named off for example David......what if David had said, "No Lord, I'm comfortable in this tent, got figs, grapes, and all I need.......not gonna go fight Goliath"........and what if when Jesus called Peter out of the boat, Peter said "No Jesus, I'm nice and dry, don't think so this time!".......he went through alot of them. |

HOW funny...Pastor sounds like my kinda man...LOL!!!
Yeah, I know the whole Moses complex thing...I struggle with it too...I emailed someone last night and said...what's the worst that could happen...they said I could die....I said and Go home and be with Jesus...what's the problem there? She said...I have a job to do here...ouch...so we just prayed for protection and I left that one alone...hehehe!!
What if's and how's...that's why the graveyard is the richest place...all the gifts there that people kept to themselves...didn't share with the world...
I am enjoying the study, and it really does make me look at things from a different way...maybe that's just what I need... |
