| What Frustrates God? |
|
| |
Sometimes we go through some 'dry' times in our lives and it is very frustrating to us. Have you ever wondered what might frustrate God?
Psalm 78:40-42 says, "Oh, how often they rebelled against him in the desert and grieved his heart in the wilderness. Again and again they tested God's patience and frustrated the Holy One of Israel. They forgot about his power and how he rescued them from their enemies."
Hosea 6:4 tells us, "O Israel and Judah, what should I do with you?" asks the LORD. "For your love vanishes like the morning mist and disappears like dew in the sunlight."
It is frustrating to God to send out unending streams of love, mercy, and forgiveness to his people, only to see them dam the streams of blessings and keep their souls a spiritual desert.
So how can we best deal with our own frustrations so that we don't frustrate the one who gave His all for us? Ecc. 1:8 - Everything is so weary and tiresome! No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content.
Ecc. 2:20 - I turned in despair from hard work. It was not the answer to my search for satisfaction in this life.
Psalm 90:14 - Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.
Acts: 17:25 - Human hands can't serve his needs-- for he has no needs. He himself gives life and breath to everything, and he satisfies every need there is.
We are frustrated when we fail to let God be God or when we try to understand the reasons for everything that happens. When we let go and let God work out what is best for us, we will relieve much of our frustration. I really think it's all about TRUST and LOVE, don't you? <><
There is a promise from God in Joshua 1:9 - I command you -- be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. |

Mike, thanks for your comment and, of course, the star! Acts 17:25 really is awesome, isn't it. It's a good one to 'carve upon your heart'; Joshua 1:9 too! Knowing that our Father is with us always, in every situation, should be a huge comfort to his kids. The Lord's been talking to me regularly about how "BIG" he is for, no kidding, well over 3 years now. I guess it's something he really wants me to 'get', huh?! LOL. I must admit though, meditating upon 'trust' scriptures and realizing that the promises that go along with them - really are for me - have defused many difficult situations in my life and that's why I just have to magnify him and his word every chance I get. It's really difficult for me to understand sometimes how his greatness can go so unnoticed. Mind-boggling, to say the least! :-) <>< |

| Thank you Linda for this blog. There's a lot of Word and words in this that makes me examine my heart and I desire to lay to heart that I might not frustrate the One who has taken me from my past. These two things God is continually teaching me about lately that you wrote about is TRUST and LOVE. Someone once told me, it's kinda cheesy, but it goes w/ what you're saying. "let go, and let God." I actually think it was my Mom. |

Have you ever tried to tell something really important to someone...and you realize they just don't"get it." ....and out of frustration you say something like, "just believe me".
Maybe God gets frustrated with us when we don't believe. Mark 5:22 And one of the rulers of the Synagogue, Jairus by name, came, and seeing him, went down at his feet, And made strong prayers to him, saying, My little daughter is near to death: it is my prayer that you will come and put your hands on her, so that she may be made well, and have life. And he went with him; ….. And while he was still talking, they came from the ruler of the Synagogue's house, saying, Your daughter is dead: why are you still troubling the Master? But Jesus, giving no attention to their words, said to the ruler of the Synagogue, "BE NOT AFRAID. ONLY BELIEVE." .....And when he had gone in, he said to them, Why are you making such a noise and weeping? The child is not dead, but sleeping. And they were laughing at him. But he, having sent them all out, took the father of the child and her mother and those who were with him, and went in where the child was. And taking her by the hand, he said to her, Talitha cumi, which is, My child, I say to you, Get up. And the young girl got up straight away, and was walking about; she being twelve years old. And they were overcome with wonder.
Just believe him. Believe in Him...Believe his Words are true....Believe he is the answer to your problems....believe he WANTS to help you....believe He is for you....believe He is in control of everything....and believe everything is going to be okay. |

Amen~ I have a testimony to share that may seem a little corny, but God showed me something so beautiful!! About a month ago, my eldest son captured a turtle. We put it in a pool and by the next day it had escaped. He was very frustrated and sad and my heart was sorrowful for him. This last saturday, he found another turtle and brought it home. He put it in the pool again with some rocks in the center and some water. He went on-line to do some research on how to take care of it and how to tell the sex of it. He found out that it was a female. He also found out that the reason she kept scratching the side of the pool is because she needed to lay her eggs. My husband said to let her go and let her do what she needs to. I didn't want him to let her go because I knew he really wanted a turtle. But God spoke to me in this and said, IF YOU DON'T LET GO, YOU WILL MISS THE BLESSINGS! That is the thought that came to my mind. I sat back in my chair and said "Lord, he has been wanting a turtle so much, and now he has one and you want him to give it up?" and the Lord said "IF YOU DON'T LET GO, YOU WILL MISS THE BLESSINGS!" I said ok Lord, I won't hold on to this. So, I also encouraged him to let her go, and told him God will bless. He let her go without hesitation. I was very surprised by this, even after a couple days because I knew how much he wanted a turtle. I was very joyful to see that he was willing to let her go. Seeing that work blessed me!!
This also ministered to me in a situation with one of my other children. God is so good to us, if we just obey and trust HIM.
This testimony blesses me in ways that I can't explain! I have an overwhelming amount joy and thankfulness right now as I am writing this to you. GOD CARES SO MUCH ABOUT US! WE CAN'T EVEN COMPREHEND THE DEPTHS OF HIS LOVE FOR US! HE IS A KING~ WORTHY OF OUR PRAISE~ WORTHY TO BE CALLED GOD~ WORTHY TO BE EXALTED HIGH ABOVE EVERYTHING THAT WANTS TO KEEP US DOWN~ WORTHY ONE~
Thank you Jesus for your unfailing love, that by your grace and mercy you teach us fools how to become gods. You teach us how to live a holy life in a world that is so disgustingly perverse. Thank you Jesus for your words that seperate us and keep us alive. I don't want to know any other way, but yours Jesus! I am thankful that I fellowship with peculiar people who show forth the praises of HIM!
Have a blessed day!!! Love~ |

ann, i love your testimony and prayer. it is beautifully worded. eloquent. perfect. sometimes, I feel that my words don't magnify the magnificence of God nor describe his greatness, nor glorify Him as they ought, but your words did magnify HIM, did describe HIS greatness, and did glorify HIM.
ann, u are a faithful witness of the goodness of God and have blessed us with your testimony. thank you. And thanks to our great God who cares for us with such a great love. |
