| Guarding the Heart! |

4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life. This powerful proverb goes right to the core of why people have problems in their life. We have not kept our heart right like we should. The underlying meaning of this Proverb is like that of a soldier keeping guard. We should guard our heart in much the same way. We must not allow the enemy to infiltrate our heart and wreak havoc. Many times this enemy will be in disguise and it will be very difficult to tell the difference. Other times this enemy will be deceitful and try to make us compromise knowing that at the first opportunity he will strike to destroy us! How can you guard your heart? 1) Accept Jesus into your heart and make Him Lord of your life. 2) Spend time in the Bible on a daily basis. It is THE Manual on how to live! 3) Spend time in prayer. Ask God to be your pilot and to protect you. Those points are only the start. As a good soldier, you should press to learn more so you can be ready for whatever the enemy may throw at you. Not only does your life depend on it, but those that are around you will be affected as well!! David |
