| Blessed to be a Blessing? |

A couple of days ago I needed to make a payment on one of my bills. I had absolutely no cash on me and was waiting on a new card to arrive as I had to report my debit card lost.
The bill needed to be paid quickly and I wasn't sure what I was going to do. I'm not the type to just go around asking people for favors, especially financial ones, but I put my pride to the side for a moment and began asking people I know on a personal level if they could let me borrow the money until my new card came. Just being real, having to ask to borrow money hurt. I mean, it wasn't a physical pain, but my pride hurt so bad. It's been a while since I have had to ask to borrow money and I could only imagine what people were thinking about me.
I have, on so many occasions, got instructions from God to be a blessing to random people. I would give them money (for what they thought was no reason at all) and tell them that God wanted them to have that. I have also been a blessing to people by praying for them in their time of need. Not all blessings have to be in the form of something financial.
Now, I was in need. I called one person and afterwards was so ashamed to call anyone else that I just sent emails instead. I patiently waited for a response from each person. I had prayed and knew that God would take care of my need. I just didn't know how.
One after the other, people wrote me saying they could not help me. However, one person said he would take care of it. I waited for money to be wired via Western Union. It did not come. I dared not call or email asking what was taking so long. I just thanked God for my blessing. God said it's done.
The very next day, I was able to access my new account and was very happy to be making a payment on my account. I wrote the person who was supposed to wire the money, telling him that my business was taken care of. I was smiling when I sent it. I couldn't do anything but smile.
I began to wonder how many of those people could have actually helped me, but just chose not to. I also wondered if they even considered just praying for my need to be met. I thought about how many of those people actually took the time out to be a blessing to me by praying even if they could not assist financially.
All the time, when someone comes to you in their time of need, you may not be in a place to give them what they actually came to you for. However, you can still be a blessing by praying for their need. Yes, a simple prayer, is like gold to even a Sheppard with no flock.
When the opportunity presents itself, will you miss your chance to be a blessing or will you allow God to show Himself through you?
