| America Needs Repentance, Not Toleration |
|
| |
4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." To discuss evil in a manner implying neutrality is to sanction it." --Ann Rynd
We hear much about "tolerance" today. The way that word is used in our day seems to me to mean that we should accept and embrace people's behaviors and view points as normal, no matter what those lifestyles and points of view may be. But all points of view and behaviors are not equal. Some are self-destructive, some impact society in a negative way, and many are against the historic morality of all mankind and their various religions.
We shouldn't tolerate people. We should love them.
We shouldn't tolerate immoral behavior. We should speak the truth in love and encourage people to turn away from those behaviors.
God's answer for sin is not "tolerance." It is repentance, which means stopping the immoral behavior and not doing it any more. And then asking God and the people we have hurt for forgiveness.
According to the Bible, God's forgiveness is abundant, but it is not cheap. It cost God the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross. Tolerance eliminates the need for forgiveness and makes Jesus' death meaningless.
Be careful of tolerance. Tolerance is to sanction evil in others and even in ourselves. We must fight our compulsive tendencies, not tolerate and surrender to them. We must tell and show others by our lifestyle that there is much more than toleration. There is freedom! There is deliverance! There is forgiveness! There is cleansing! There is victory over our sin! The Bible says: "You shall call His name Jesus for He shall save His people from their sin." Being set free from sin and self-destruction is so much better than tolerance! Give it a try!
Life requires U-turns. |

| There will come a time when God will no longer tolerate man's rebellion. Just like in the days of Noah..."God's Spirit will not always strive witih man." Amen Steve |

Even though I agree in the context of the moral code of what you post, such preaching is in vain.
Nice. But in vain. The church has been preaching against sinful lifestyles for ages without effect.
There is NO POWER in preaching against Sin. In fact it only strengthens the virus. Sin in America grew like a wild weed during a great evangelical revival in America. Christians do not understand the clever tricks of the enemy.
The only hope for America or the American Church is the preaching of the Cross of Jesus Christ. The Cross that includes everyone of Them. If it does not include all of them, it is not the message of the Cross.
But I think you probably know by now Steve as you seem knowledgeable, that the American Church has a very hard heart toward truth. They are Like the Dinosaurs who are unaware that the light in the sky is a meteor coming their way.
They refused to preach the Good news to mankind. They will become examples and patterns in the years ahead of what happens when a great body denies the Saviour of Mankind.
Preach not to the sinner my friend, but to the believers held in captivity to tradition of men. This is the reason for the coming meteor. Their hard head and bodies and minds that hold them, must be removed.

Kw: "If my people . . ." We believers desperately need to repent of our sin.
Repentance is Jesus' message and John the B's message, and even Peter's at Pentecost. |

Hi Steve....Repent originally was intended as a word that meant "Change of mind." which includes all of us. The problem in America is not because of pleasure in the flesh. If that was the case Saudi Arabia or Iran would be Idolized. Though such pleasures have their due payments.
The problem with any area will always be located in the heads of the Church in that country.
American christian have very hard heads, and cold hearts. Their separate lives and families and churches reflect this everyday.
They refuse to repent (Change) in fact it has not even entered their minds to consider the possibility of the need to do it. They dance even as their unsinkable ship slips away under the water of history.
It is their Doctrines that destroy them. No kingdom can stand divided against its self. (we are all mankind, and concluded in unbelief according to scripture)

| I've often said what a shame it is to realize how immune we have become to the sin and filth of this world. Things that we see and hear anymore that would have, at one time, shocked us have become common place in todays society. |
