Around 60 A.D., Paul the apostle was imprisioned in Rome. Shackled to uncertainty, he remained faithful to the call placed on his life by God. In the depths of despair, he still shined the light of Jesus into this dark and fallen world.....he was brought into a position where he personally would not have chosen to go...or the circumstances would have been different. Maybe he would have visited with the prisioners, but could he identify with them. He could tell the homeless how to get help in his self-righteous way...but did he know the walk of not knowing where your going to sleep or what your going to eat...much less tryign to find a place to shower or keep your clothes from being stolen while your at work...try holding a job when your in despair.
In bondage, literally and when life was not fair, Paul was not in bondage to life. Paul was in a deep walk with the Lord that when he shared Jesus to the Roman guards by his actions and speech...the guards knew what he was saying was true....and the prison walls shook, the captives were set free...the captive at that point was not Paul, it was the guards.
Some of you are going through more than your share of life. God needs you in the spot He has you. For someone else, the prison walls are going to be free.....trust Him, walk and obey, serve and love Him and others.
Jesus came to set you free! By His strips you are healed..the shackles are removed...dance and praise Him!
Hi Cheryl. I sit here gobsmacked! That's one of the best blogs you have written. One of my all time favourite songs is simply called "Voice" by John Farnham that was written in the mid 80's. I'd love to upload it for people to listen to, but I just don't know how to do it (duhhh), am I dumb or what? Don't answer that! Ha ha.
The version that is particulally interesting is where a boy starts off the song and starts singing the introduction, then the band cranks into gear - and off John Farnham goes singing the rest of the song and the audience joins in to compliment it. It is literally powerful. The words to that song are more in evidence today than they ever were.
Bubbles, Amen lady, God knows......Mission Trips Remember!! haha
To the several men and women who have privetly messaged me in reguard to this blog, you are in the palm of God's hand...He will never leave you nor forsake you...you are hid in the cleft of the rock.....dance away!! God knows.....
Cheryl, there are many in my world that are shackled and need freedom. Alas, there are many fields ready to harvest, but few workers. Good blog, thanks for the reminder that God cares.
That is by far my favorite blog you have written. My cousin Kayti and I was going to do a dance to that song in front of our church, but we just couldn't do it I suppose.God Bless you Cheryl.
