| Yes! Please do! Our whole lives are war from the minute we are born. The enemy will do anything to keep us from becoming who we were made to be. |
|
|
| Thanks girl! Love ya lots! I hope you are feeling better these days. |
|
|
| We have an Enemy. We didn't declare war, HE did. Since we are being attacked daily, we can surrender or fight. Gotta decide! |
|
|
My beloved Dana:
All creatures are doing that which they are appointed to do, as contrary to what you have been taught, there is no choice. There is an appointed time for war and an appointed time for peace: those for war are divinely inspired, and those for peace are also divinely inspired; therefore it is wise to be and yet let be; but woe unto those through whom the offence comes: for they must be recompenced!
Peace and love are who you are! |

Mike, yes, he did declare war on us...if he couldn't get God back for kicking him out of heaven, then he would get those who were made in his image.
Nicholas, I'm not speaking of an earthly war or earthly assignments, but a spiritual one. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. "Our" being all inclusive. There is time for peace and war, but we are all in the spiritual battle that comes at us everyday of our lives. The enemy wants nothing more than to keep us from our calling and who we were made to be. We have free will. We can choose.
Thanks guys for your comments!
5:19We know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in the evil one.
A few quotes that I like on the topic:
Lord of the Rings- "Fate has chosen him. A Fellowship will protect him. Evil will hunt him."
John Eldredge on the above quote - "Yes-that's it. That is the life Christianity is trying to explain to the world. Better, that is the reality into which Christianity is the door. If we could believe that about our lives, and come to know that it is true, everything would change. We would be so much more able to interpret the events unfolding around us, against us. We would discover the task that is ours alone to fulfill. We would find our courage. The hour is late and you are needed. So much hangs in the balance. Where is your heart?" |

| Shannon, Thanks for your comment. I think you will agree that part of the battle is helping the wounded. You and I have done so much of that on here. War does not include just fighting. It has Chaplins, medics, mechanics, the force is full of different tasks. All designed for the service of others. Just like the Good Samaritan. Will we walk by or will we stop and help. |

| Cheryl, I will include you and Lara in the above comment. There are many people on here who have gone out of their way to bring in the wounded and take them to Jesus, the healer. Their wounds need attention. I guess that is my whole point and heart on this topic...the wounded. My heart goes out to them and I can't stand to watch them laying by the roadside, bloody and beaten. |

I'm not normally a quote person, but thought these were interesting pertaining to the topic.
“A critic is someone who never actually goes to the battle, yet who afterwards comes out shooting the wounded” Tyne Daly
“I'm a little wounded but I'm not slain; I will lay me down for to bleed awhile, Then I'll rise and fight with you again” John Dryden
“We shall heal our wounds, collect our dead and continue fighting” Mao Tse-Tung

| Wow. I love this!!! This is where my heart's mind has been lately. We need to stay focused on what God's desires are and not on the world's desires. Plugged into God so we can light up the world, electrify the world with the Love of God.
Scripture is Life!! It is alive and well. We would be wise to drink the living water, to breathe his word. His word should be the very breath we inhale ourselves and exhale on people.
Thank you for posting!! :) |

This fits in with Shannon's informaion. I thought this was some good information:
Ephesians 6:11-18: "Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil……." Be not ignorant of the wiles of the devil. (2 Corinthians 2:11)
What are the wiles? Webster’s definition of "Wiles:" artifice, craft, trick, connections, doubtful, guile (synonym), deception, snare, sly, to draw or turn as by diverting the mind. They are those sins that you manifest from these wiles.
They are the devil’s characteristics coming through in us. How do we keep them away? By watching and praying, discerning the truth when we see something come our way, confessing it when it tries taking root so it is plucked up at it’s On-Set! Remember that offense is the #1 root plaguing God’s people today. Don’t let the enemy get a foothold! That is an OPEN DOOR to many manifestations. We need to Pay Attention to what we are Paying Attention To (2 Corinthians 10:5)
Here is a list of some of his Wiles: Devourer (Malachi 3:11) | Liar, thief, hateful, unforgiving (Ephesians 4:24-32) | Tempter (Mathew 4:1 and Luke 4) | Unclean Spirits (Luke 4:33) | Dumb Spirit (Mathew 9:32-33) | Murderer (I John 3:15) | Accuser of Brethren (Rev. 12:10) | Rebellious (I Samuel 15:23) | Betrayer (John 13:2) | Devilish (James 3:15) | Perverted (Acts 13:5-10) | Sorcerer (Acts 13:5) Elymas means Sorcerer. | source: http://www.mindsync.com/lam/freedom.htm |
