| Do we Every really get out of High School? |

| I am 31 years old. I still find that even though High School was over 10 years ago that even as adults we face peer-presure. When I was a teenager I thought that when I hit 18 years old the pressure was going away for good and that people was going to let me like what I am going to like. Wrong! At the age of 31 I find that adults still believe that there is something wrong with me because I like the Dodgers. I have to give a defense for me and the Dodgers. Like I did as a teenager when I was pressured into listening to unchristian music as opposed to Petra. (I really find that my baseball buddies don't like LA teams, but I don't have to comform. My buddies and I watch the local Red Soxs Minor League Team. That will be funny if next year the Dodgers buy out the team.) The other day, my family was visiting. I meantioned that I like Hannah Montanna on the Disney Channel. My defense for Hannah Monatanna is Phil 4:8 as opposed to the more adult comedies. Well they all pocked-fun when I turned to her on my TV. When they realized that I was not going to give in, and that it is my TV, they clamed-up. To all you teenagers out there it never gets easy. Just remember who you are and to be happy with it. As a teenager I can remember being pressured into things and never caving in. (Back then all my friends liked the Dodgers.) I High School I was even pressured to watch R Rated movies, but I stood my ground. Kids I am telling you to live above the influence. If you let others tell you who you are in High School they will tell you who you are at the age of 30. You might get that deplomia, but you never leave high school in the mind. |
