32:10 Many are the pangs of the wicked; but steadfast love surrounds him who trusts in the LORD. I clicked on the "blog this" option for this verse of the day, even though I had no clue what to write. Bad things happen to people who trust God. So what is this verse saying? Maybe it means that God is with us when we trust Him, not that He'll prevent strife in our lives. There is a verse that says the sun shines on the evil and the good. 'Tis better to have God with you in life's ups and downs than to go through life without Him. It will show, whether or not anyone appreciates it. 5:44 But I say to you, Have love for those who are against you, and make prayer for those who are cruel to you; 5:45 So that you may be the sons of your Father in heaven; for his sun gives light to the evil and to the good, and he sends rain on the upright man and on the sinner. 5:46 For if you have love for those who have love for you, what credit is it to you? do not the tax-farmers the same? 5:47 And if you say, Good day, to your brothers only, what do you do more than others? do not even the Gentiles the same? 5:48 Be then complete in righteousness, even as your Father in heaven is complete. So, I challenge anyone who hasn't to give it a try with God alongside you. It won't mean you'll be happy go-lucky, but He is a friend who is in fact closer than a brother is. P.S. Anyone know what a tax-farmer is? |
