| We are Included |

Some time ago I wrote a blog disputing the saying that claims it is not about us at all, it's all about Jesus. It seems to make God out to be so self-centered, so I want to revisit that thought again.
There is good news for US at Jesus birth. One of his titles emphasized at that time was Immanuel -- meaning God with US. Wow! What a privilege we have, that God condescended to spend time with US!
Then we are told that Jesus would baptize US with the Holy Spirit and he sent his first disciples to become fishers of US. When he taught them to pray, he said to pray to OUR Father in heaven and to give US this day OUR daily bread and deliver US from evil. In God's eyes clothing US is more important than the rest of his creation, all we need is to ask and OUR needs will be given to US.
On the cross, Jesus did not take his own sickness, but OURS, not his own infirmities, but OURS. If we are weary, Jesus tells US to come to him for rest. He said that if we have faith even as small as a mustard seed, nothing will be impossible for US.
To the sheep, the King will say, Come and inherit the kingdom prepared for YOU from the foundation of the world and we have the blessed assurance that he will be with US always until the end of the age.
It is certainly about Jesus, but it is also very much about US. Jesus has had us on his mind since the beginning and has done more for US than we could even imagine.

Grant, you are so right in all of the above. It is one of my favorite sayings, "It's not about you anymore." The key word is "anymore." Simply because as you said, "we have the blessed assurance that He will be with US always until the end of the age." This is so very true. Yep, it's not about you or me anymore. It's about all those other souls who don't have Jesus as their savior. Our priority ought to be about them, winning the lost souls for Christ. It's all about them and God glorified. Pastor Aminata |

Amen Grant, good thoughts
When I was reading your blog, I was reminded of how much God wants to be with us, as Immanuel, with the path of progression of the kingdom of heaven: 1) The kingdom is near 2) The kingdom is at hand 3) The kingdom is within you
I actually heard a church person tell me they did not think that God had time to bother listening to your prayers, I explained as best I could, that God being Spirit, not limited to physical realm laws, could give 100% attention to 100% of people 100% of the time, and because of His Love, does!
WHOO HOOOO God is so good to us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Grant, I remember that post. I don't argue with you on the point. I am a mediator at heart and offer this as a thought. It is all about God's glory which includes us. He gets the glory when we receive with gladness what He has done for us. But, us humans need to understand that the world does not revolve our every want and desire (consume it upon our own lusts), but to bring honor glory and praise to God. Does that make sense? |

| Thanks Mike. Aminata, very interesting side comment. Tom, thank you. Todd, I agree, God is not self-centered or selfish, but includes us. His focus is on us as ours ought to be on him. Sue, thank you. |
