Unity is a powerful spiritual force.  I am so happy to see you living in kingdom principles.  When God's kingdom comes to earth God reigns and His will is done!

Here's another tasty treat:

Day 28 Access is for the Adventurous

Who can climb Mount GOD? Who can scale the holy north-face? Only the clean handed, only the pure hearted.  (Psalm 24: 3-4 MSG)

Anyone can open his mouth, say words, and call it a prayer. But those prayers may not move the heart of God in any way. Those who move the heart of God are those who know the heart of God.

Effectiveness in prayer is the domain of those who have made it their life's pursuit to know God and live in his presence. You don't have to be a monk. You don't have to be brilliant. But there is a serious quest, a searching, a pursuit that requires energy and attention. It isn't for the faint of heart!

If you set your sights on purity, taking advantage of God's ready forgiveness, then you will be unhindered in your quest to "climb Mount GOD." Your time in His presence will bring you into agreement with Him and empower the Rebellion.

I will be a spiritual adventurer. I will not be a casual Christian. By knowing your heart, my prayers will change the world.

Brother Todd:  I was taught early on that the way of the Kingdom is narrow--not narrow mindedness, but narrow worldliness, narrow focus:

And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

The secret of coming into agreement with God's will is simply stated right here. The secret to realizing 'God sized' results, is right here. The key to the kind of agreement promised us in Matthew 18: 19 is right here.

We who love the Lord with all of our heart, all of our soul and all of our strength do not come as mendicant beggars, but as inheritors of a Kingdom which rules, reigns and invades the physical world with His will--on earth as it is in heaven.

Mary:  As devotionals go, it's not the least bit sappy. I know just what you mean, I have several that are just sitting on my shelf because after a few days, I wasn't feeling very nutritionally satisfied. This one is different though, every page is power packed! You will love it! :) Vitamins for the spirit!

The title really grabs your attention doesn't it? We ae conditioned to believe that rebellion is bad--but if you rebel against what is evil, then rebellion is good!
Here's a snippet from the Introduction:

The New Rebellion. What's it all about?

Rebellion occurs when opression reaches a level that we can no longer tolerate in good conscience. It occurs when our vision for extraordinary living is more compelling than our urge for comfort. Opression can be subtle. Sometimes we feel it inside our souls, and sometimes we feel it on the outside. Today's world is full of both kinds. Materialism numbs us from the outside while distraction and apathy work on us from the inside. When that happens, it's time to rebel.

The New Rebellion calls to today's emerging generation, to your generation. It calls to people who are dissallusioned with MTV culture and halfhearted Christianity. The new Rebellion calls to all of us who want to rise above the accepted norms of society and lay hold of a life beyond our wildest dreams. If that descibes you, then join the uprising of ordinary men and women who have been captivated by an extraordinary call to holiness on planet earth.

Day 29 begins the week of reading and contemplation on leadership with a call to nobility in thought and then in action. Awesome stuff. I can't tell you how much I love this book!

Me too! heehee!

Day 29  A Worthy Pursuit

This saying is trustworthy: "If any one aspires to be an overseer,
he desires a noble work."  An overseer therefore, must be above reproach. (1 Tim. 3: 1-2 HCSB)

Are you a noble person? That may sound like a strange question, but God is very interested in noble women and men. He's interested your nobility! Nobility is found in those who take risks for a righteous cause without selfish ambition. Nobility requires leadership, and effective leadership requires nobility.

It is the unworthy pursuit of selfish goals that, beyond all else, undermines the nobility and brings reproach upon leadership. Nobility sets aside personal desires and advancement for the priviledge of serving others an leading them toward a worthy goal. This is a quality of character that will change the world, and this the caliber of leadership that must fuel God's Rebels who seek His Kingdom.

Your leadership may flow in a very small sphere of influence, but it is the quality, not the extent of your leadership that releases nobility.

My leadership matters and I take seriously the privilege of serving God and others, at home, at school, at work and in the church.

I never thought of 'nobility' as a key character trait that should be developed. I've always thought of it more in the regal sense--like royalty, maybe you are just born with it or something. It is a word though, that the Lord seems to be bringing up to me often--maybe He wants us to stretch a bit to reach it.
