45:9 Kings' daughters are among thy honorable women: At thy right hand doth stand the queen in gold of Ophir. 45:10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; Forget also thine own people, and thy father's house: 45:11 So will the king desire thy beauty; For he is thy lord; and reverence thou him. 45:12 And the daughter of Tyre `shall be there' with a gift; The rich among the people shall entreat thy favor. 45:13 The king's daughter within `the palace' is all glorious: Her clothing is inwrought with gold. 45:14 She shall be led unto the king in broidered work: The virgins her companions that follow her Shall be brought unto thee. 45:15 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be led: They shall enter into the king's palace. 45:16 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, Whom thou shalt make princes in all the earth. There are two types of beauty:
Temporary: earthly body, cosmetic, clothing, jewelry etc.
Eternal: wearing the wisdom of God and purposely living in a way that glorifies God. 45:9 Verse speaks about a woman who is among other noble ladies. We as women of the Church should be considered noble, in a position of favor by God. Women sharpen women. When you surround yourself with other noble women of God, you are encouraged to grow, to seek growth and become a woman of great wisdom and beauty. 45:10-11 This is advice to woman to forsake past loyalties. The scripture says “parents” which is symbolic to traditions or the ways of the world. We need to be totally devoted to God and His ways. The King finds her devotion to be beautiful. This is what impresses the King: Our Father God. In this world we can meet all types of approval, but in the end the approval of God is what should take priority. 45:12 The people of Tyre were known for their great wealth and would come before a queen bearing gifts to gain her favor. In this world I believe people can see a beautiful (eternal) woman and do all they can to win her. They can’t help but admire her ways because she is wise and highly exalted above other women. But always remember you have been bought with the blood of Christ. Our God is the reason we are exalted so no one else can give us the glorious gift that God has already given us through His Son. 45:13-15 Remember who you are in Christ: the King’s Daughter. You are royalty! We may not be wearing a gold embroidered robe but we should carry ourselves as if we are. Every word and action should be seasoned with Christ. People should be able to see Christ in us. This is the beauty that shines and is depicted in His Church. 45:16 As royalty the offspring of the Queen will govern. We have a responsibility to share Christ to others, help other women transform into His image, lead our children to seek Him, enrich our husbands, and so much more. Everyone we touch should be influenced to God. We can spend our lives and all of our resources trying to become externally beautiful; all that will fade away in time. But to become eternally beautiful is a much better investment. I just recently had a friend whose mother-in-law went to be with God. My friend understandably was hurt by the loss, but each word she spoke of this beautiful woman led me to see her beauty was God given and her memory as a God fearing woman would live on from generation to generation. |
