The word here is mismated, the other verse used yoked. If the partners are neither Christian at the time of marriage and one becomes Christian is that mismated? I don't think so but knowingly going into a relationship unequaled then that is a problem. Also I believe if Jesus hung out with the worse of the worse to make his point then we better step up and do the same and walk that walk or walk the other way if you can't deal with real life, THAT IS BEING A WITNESS, you're in the wrong field.
