in my Youth Group we had to do homework, it as to read 2 corithians, john, or ephesians.. and to read a couple verses and write down what we got out of it.. and i just wanted to share this with all of you!
2 Corinthians 1:3-11 3.Praise to the God and Father Of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the
God of all comfort,4. who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we oursleves have received from God.5.for just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.6.If we distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation;if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.7.And our hopes for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.8.We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers about the hardship we suffered in the province of asia.We were under grest pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life.9.Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who rasies the dead.10.He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us.On Him we have set our hopes that he will continue to deliver us,11. as you help us by your prayers. then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.
(3-7)In my Bible this part is titled The God of All Comfort. and just the title jumped out me. He is our Father he is full of compassion and comfort for us, were his children and he is there for us to comfort us and in return the comfort that which he gives we can turn it around and comfort others. For all you parents isn't it hard to see your child our children going through a hard time and you as a parent feel for that child and you can see the hert and suffering that there going through and as parents it's really hard to see your children go through that. and so your herting and suffering because of what your child is going through. God is just like that when he sees us suffering with something he suffers along with us because no parent likes to see there child herting.
(8-9) In verse 8 theres a part that says" We are under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure." and when i first think of great pressure i think of temptations and in "1 Corithians 10:13 it says at some point God is faithfull; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.and he will also provide away out so you can stand up under it." back in 2 corinthians verse 9 it says " indeed in our hearts we felt the sentence of death.but this happened that we might not rely on us but rely on God. and when were dealing with that temptation sometimes it just gets to strong and we dont know what to do and we feel like we could just fall over and die.like it says in verse 9 it happens because then the only way to go to get rid of it is to go to God.''1 Corithians 10:13'' he'll provide away out so that you can stand up under it. 2 Corinthians 2:5-11 5.If anyone has caused grief,he has not so much grieved with me as he has grieved all of you, to some extent- not to put it too severly.6.The Punishment inflicted on him by the magority is sufficent for him.7.Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. 8.I urge you, therefore,to realfirm your love for him. 9.The reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything.10.If there was anything to forgive-I have forgiven him.and what I have forgiven-if there is anything to forgive-I have forgiven in sight of Christ for your sake,11. in order that Satan might not outwit us. for we are not unaware of his schemes.
The title in my Bible is forgiveness for the Sinner. and we all fall short of the Glory and we all fall into Sin at different times. and these verses were saying to me that even though someone might have hert you out of sinning we all still should forgive them... it starts in verse 7 instead of being mad at them forgive and comfort them, love them. like God forgives us he forgives them too! 2 Corinthians 4:8-18 8.we are hard pressed on everyside, but not crushed;perplexed, but not in despair,9.persecuted not abandoned;struck down, but not destroyed.10. We will always carry around in our body the death of Jesus Christ, so that the life of jesus may also be revealed in our body.11.for we who are alive are always being given over to death for jesus' sake,so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body.12.so then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.13.it i written: " I believed; therefore i have spoken." with that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak,14.because we know that the one who raised the Lod Jesus from the dead will also raise us with jesus and present us with you in his presence.15. all this is for your benift, so that the grace that is reaching more and moe people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.16. therefore we do not lose heart. though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.17.for our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18. so fix our eyes on not what is seen, but what is unseen eternal.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 14.do not be yoked together with unbelievers, for what do righteousness & wickedness have in common?Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?15.What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?16.What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of God.As God has said " I will live with them & walk among them, & I will be there God, and they will be my people."17."Therefore come out from them and I will recieve you." 18." I will be a Father to you ,and you will be my sons and Daughters,Says the Lord Almighty." it's basically saying, we have nothing in common with them. God does not want us to spend our time with unbelievers because they will infulince us in the rong way spiritually. (for example) say you have some unbeliving friends and they want to go do something rong and you know it's rong but hey there your friends and you want to be with them so you go with them and do it anyway...they pull you away from God and Godly things and influince us to do rong. I for example back when i wasn't very intrusted with church and being a christian...i hung out with my friend who believed in God but they were on the same page as me... and for along time i would go and hang out with that person and do what they were doing because i wanted to fit in, but as i started getting into the church thing more offen and being around christian people my mind set changed. So when i was hanging out with that friend and when they started doing stuff that wasn't good i would just look at them and think in my head" ok thats kinda stupid why did i find that intrusting at all?" they were just puling me away from what i was called to be. a Christian.
