23:3 He restoreth my soul: He guideth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. It is more than a comforting thought that we can be led in this life by the Great Shepherd; that He will lead us if we will let Him, into a the paths of righteousness, that is a right relationship with God. He restoreth my soul. It is our mind will and emotions that need continuous restoration. Paul writes, Be ye transformed by the renweing of your mind (soul). Part of the SPirit Led Life is the renewing and restoration of our souls. As we renew our minds to think in line with His Word we will fall in line with His will. He leadeth me. He doesn't push and shove. He has given us a free will. If we chose to do His will we will be blessed if we don't we can miss His best for our lives. It is a path, in other words we have not yet arrived. We are going somewhere we've never been. Looking back over our shoulders there is darkness and shame. Our Shepherd and Guide has come to awaken us and to lead us us out of the long night of sin into the perfect light of a new day of grace. A Spirit Led Life is a path of righteousness. We have been cleansed from sin by the blood of Jesus and empowered to live victoriously over sin by the Holy Spirit, Our Shepherd would never lead us into temptation. If we will be quick to hear His voice He will deliver us from evil and the evil one. All for His name's sake. For the sake of His dear name and for His glory. If we seek to honor His name in all that we do we will stay on track. I Corinthians 10:31 says, "Do all to the glory of God." |
