| Elastigirl has the right idea..... |

I am currently reading through the New Testament again.
Have you ever noticed in the genealogy of Christ, there are only a two women (other than Mary) listed by name?
Those women were not quiet, passive women either. They were women of tremendous faith who were full of excitement and adventure. They weren't afraid to step out of their comfort zone and do something great for God. Look at Rahab. She was a woman of great courage -- willing to risk her own life to hide spies in her home! Ruth is also mentioned-- a woman who was not timid, but strong and courageous. She was willing to stick it out with Naomi even though it was not the easiest way for her to go. She was faithful to God and to her mother-in-law.
God wants today's women to be like these women. We need to be bold and courageous. We need to stop holding back and leaving it to the men to do great things for God. He can use us just as much as he can use men, but it requires faith and boldness on our part.
I'm reminded of a line from the movie "The Incredibles". Elastigirl says, "What, leave the saving of the world to the men? I don't think so!". We should take Elastigirl's attitude and be used by God to help "save the world" and not just leave it up to the men to be used by God. |
