It's almost over...my first semester back in college after a 3 year hiatus is almost over! This week will be a killer, as I have 2 major, final exams, and two major research papers, all due by Sunday. I am already tired as I look over the specifics of the requirements for these papers, and the amount of info that is covered on the exams. I will make it though, and will breathe a very sweet sigh of relief at the end of the week, knowing that I am done with these particular classes, and can focus on other things other than college for at least a few months. I wish I would have just completed my college education 3 years ago insteadof just completing 2 of the 4 years. It would be a lot easier. But, no need in looking at the past, I can't change it, just have to learn from it. Isn't it great that the Lord doesn't relate to us through our past, or hold it over us as a painful reminder?! 3:22 The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; 3:23 they are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. I am glad that when I fail (and fail I do) I can come in remorse, desiring repentance and be forgiven and cleansed by my Father. Then, I can go forward in newness, knowing that He has buried my sin and failure at the bottom of a sea of forgetfulness! Who is like unto the Lord our God?! No one! I'm now looking forward to catching up on some personal reading that I've really been missing for the past few months. Here's where I plan to start.
This book has been suggested to me by a good friend and I can't wait to read it. I know it is reich with challenge and good perspective on the person of Jesus. Next, I plan to read a recent book from my favorite Christian Fiction author, Ted Dekker. I last read "Showdown", a great, gritty allegory of the affect of our sin nature if allow it to run rampant and unchecked. buy it, sign it out from a library, or borrow it from me. The follow up to that book is called "Saint." I have been wanting to read it since November, but have not been able to. I really look forward to diving into it soon. If you read it first, don't tell me anything! Have a great day! God bless. Chris. |
