Missionary update 06/18/08 There have not been many changes in the past weeks other than there are new additions to our missionary family. Three new couples have been called to serve overseas. Two of these families have connections to the New Bern corps. The Traylor’s have visited our corps last June as guests of the Dohmann’s. Of course, the Hawley’s are related to our beloved bandmaster Charles Powell. The third family, the Vierra’s are recently commissioned Lieutenants. As for appointments, while I do have some knowledge of each appointment, I have been asked to wait until they become official before sharing. The Hawley’s and the Vierra’s will be serving together in their new appointment. Please keep these new families in your prayers. Each will be charged with building the Lord’s and the Army’s presence in new areas. The Traylor’s will be building from the ground up. They will be staying in a hotel until permanent quarters can be procured. In addition, the will need to find somewhere to establish the corps. As for the Hawley’s and the Vierra’s, I do not know what they will start with but I know they will face many challenges due to cultural differences. As for our other missionaries, I do not know of many updates. The Caldwell’s, the Tidman’s and the Matthew’s were all at the Holiness Congress in Atlanta. I had the opportunity to meet the Tidman’s and the Caldwell’s as well as take some pictures. It was great blessing for me and I got to learn more about their respective appointments. As for the Dooley’s Captain Tanya has started a new blog on revelife.com as well updating her other ones. Captain Mark is doing well but was still having migraines according the latest update. I will update as soon as new information becomes available. Please remember to keep all our Southern Missionaries in prayer. They each have different challenges and needs that need to be overcome. Remember we serve One God and One Army. Go out and spread the “Good News” and lift up our brothers and sisters. |
