Jesus is awesome, if there would be no repentance,
then there would be no salvation...  Paul this is great for
you to remind us of this... a world without jesus would not be
a place I would want to live in... Jesus love us enough to die
for us; all He ask is to repent and take Him into our hearts...
so little to ask. for such a great gift.

The mighty works are supposed to be a sign post on the road that leads to repentance.  As Paul say, "The goodness of God leads you to repentance."  When Peter saw the miracle of the great draught of fish he fell to his knees acknowledging his sinful condition.  This was also the response of Isaiah when he saw the Lord's Glory.  He said, "Woe is me for I am undone I am a man of unclean lips and dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips."  I both of these cases there was a cleansing and a commission.  Peter was invited to become a fisher of Men. Isaiah received his commission to be a prophet of the nations.

Michael,     I so agree !      While reading this passage, though I had read it many times before, the sad truth hit me.   People who witnessed Jesus Himself performing mighty works......chose not to repent !

God's goodness leads us to repent !    We must choose to follow His lead !!  This is another eye opener to me.  Glory to God..........

Admittedly, this was one of those verses I had to look up in a different version! lol  some of the words...anyways, yeah! AMen!  Cuz their hearts must have been hard, seeing them miracles, and yet not repenting!  But ya know, we do th same thing now....nothing new under heaven. Lord have mercy.
