Ready to go for another week. Very windy outside but sunny. Another full day, study this morning, meetings in the afternoon and this evening. Still praying for those folks at Va Tech. Read this verse in my devotions 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: Christ said this to the Laodiceans and was describing their church. A church in denial. When is a church in denial? When all the bills are paid but no life change is occurring. When they have a nice facility and no one to put in it. When they don't have to trust God for anything. It is very frightening to realize a church can be lulled asleep without even realizing it. Bill Hybels tells of visiting a church he had not been to in 20 years, the scary part to him was that there was no change and the pretty much the same people were doing the same things and there was no evidence of any progress physical or spiritual. It is that easy for a church to be lulled asleep. I too can be lulled asleep as a pastor. I pray God will constantly feed me a fresh vision of what He wants Faith to be,and where He wants us to go. It is easy to get weary in the ministry but we must not give in to that weariness for God has promised His blessing if we seek it. 6:9 And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
