A couple of weeks ago, I posted a blog concerning a young woman named Bridgett who is in her 30's battling cancer. She and her husband have a two year old daughter and expecting their second at the time they learned of Bridget's cancer. In case you need refreshing, here it is http://www.mychurch.org/blog/198998/Looking-Up
Here is an update. The doctors have found that after the one month of chemo, her tumors have shrunk 60% and her life expentancy has grown from 9 months as she was originally told, to one to two years. Physicians have been very surprised to see such success after such a short time on chemo - typically results are seen after about 3 months. No surprise to us who have all been praying for this brave lady!! There are literally people praying from coast to coast for her.
Now for the new prayer request. The chemo was helping Bridget, but harming the placenta of her unborn child. So, for the benefit of the baby, their little girl was born last night after about 26 1/2 weeks at 11:33 pm weighing 1 pound and 2 oz. For being 3 months early, this little baby girl is doing very well. PLEASE CONTINUE TO LIFT UP THIS FAMILY!!
I have never met them or anyone in their family, but I look forward to spending an eternity in glory with such strong believers. There will be a Christian benefit concert in the Boston area soon and their desire is that people will come to Christ as a result. Despite all they are going through, their focus remains on Christ. Praise the Lord. I wonder if I could do that. |
