I was reading your blog and looked up the verses.  This is a very good question.  I reread the two chapters and what I did notice is that in chapter 1 it is a type of listing to what God created each day within the six day period, this including man and woman on the sixth day.  In chapter 2, there is more emphasis on God's reason and purpose for creating man and woman to their role one to another and in their new home called earth.
