I just wanted to take a moment to let everyone know that we are all still alive. The baby just had her second week checkup and passed wonderfully. Liesl is now 8 lbs. 3 oz. which is over her birth weight and growing. We are probably going to have to give away some of the newborn clothes because she has already started to outgrow them. She also had her first bath the other day (unfortunately time & dates are fuzzy subjects for me right now), and she did very well with it. The first of a long series of first's that I look forward too. Jessica is also doing much better and has been cleared to drive. She is still not allowed to lift a lot, but can start walking again which will help her heal even faster. We are going to try to get to the park this evening and hopefully walk the small loop. We are also hoping to be able to get back to church this Sunday since Liesl seems to be on a semi-regular schedule that will allow at least small trips outside of the house. The tough task for this week is to get Liesl is sleep in the crib. It is making for some long nights, but hoepfully in a few more days she will start relating the crib with bedtime. We know that Jessica really needs to be able to sleep in a bed instead of the recliner where she has been stuck. Last night I found the first part of a book called, "The Baby Sleep Book" that was very helpful in offering advice on how to do this. We plan on picking up a copy of the full book today. Again I would like to thank everyone who has been praying for all of us. I don't think either of us were really prepared, and I don't think we could have been. I truly believe it has only been because of the prayers that one of the two of us has had the patience to step in when the other is at their limit.
